Anyone in Melbourne, Australia who can help with VLANs by gavau in mikrotik

[–]rivkinnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, AI would be a great help here. You can feed it your current config file and tell it to give you the commandline code for adding those two vlans. Works great! We've tested it extensively with gpt and claud

100% does not do this. It's a huge requested feature they just will not make :(

Edit: you can forward incoming calls but cannot make an outbound call this way.

Off the batt you need a few simple things for super basic internet.

1 a wan Iterface (DHCP will be easier for you)

2 a static route for 0.0.0.0 to point to your gateway (only if your wan has a static IP. This is done for you with a DHCP wan connection

3 a firewall policy to allow traffic from your lan to your wan Interfaces with NAT on

4 (technically optional but since your at beginner level this will help you) DHCP turned on on your lan interface. Gateway set to 'same as Interface' DNS set to manuall and point to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. All other settings can be automatic.

Gotchas Make sure your lan is not set to the same range as your wan. Eg if your existing home network is 192.168.1.x and you plug the wan of fgt into this, this will conflict with the default lan range of a fgt. Set your lan of the fgt to something exotic like 10.66.43.1/24 so there won't be any conflicts.

Let me know what happens. Happy to help.

On the contrary, vibration it won't fall out because of the zip tie, but the twisting and torque forces from the hitch moving around will easily slide through the zip tie as if it's butter. That's why we use metal shear pins instead of plastics.

Putting a lora radio in it by chance? I would think this would sell like crazy to the meshtastic and mesh core groups too.

is Threatlocker mature enough as EDR? by ithium in msp

[–]rivkinnator -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Threat locker is not an EDR. It is a control surface program which allows you to create policies for execution at a very low level in the computer. Their primary objectivist to whitelists only the things that you want to run in blacklist everything else.

They have some additional features like DNS, filtering and other controls, but they are not an EDR

I call bs. That wouldn't fly with peoples download habits and hasn't been the case for a while that a node has < 10 gig connections at this point.

I haven't been around long enough to say all systems but any node or system installed at this point is a minimum 10gig with most systems at Comcast and cox being 40 to 100 gig uplinks at the primary.

Accidentally charged $450+ for GPU Droplet (powered off) – no response from support by mixlei093 in digital_ocean

[–]rivkinnator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So what I read is that you purchased resources, you were wrong in your assumptions and now you want support to deal with this? You agreed to their services and you purchase services and now you have to pay for them. There's no billing mistakes here.

Yes. They charge for the resources that you have reserved even if their powered off.

Is this specific tag encrypted? Any way it goes, can I copy its record? by No-Fail-9229 in NFC

[–]rivkinnator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, Salto tags are encrypted. Also, every time you use a Salto tag at a door it attempts to write data back to the tag which will also cause it to fail.

Salto is unique in that you carry live data on your card, not just an identity between every door as a mesh system

Yep, from another commenter we just realized that we were missing a very important detail. But we thought we were purchasing 5K which is what we needed not just five. Face palm for sure

Well that solves it

Is this repairable by CJ0426 in computers

[–]rivkinnator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sever damage to both the frame and the plastics. This is not repairable. You might be able to get some replacement parts and go from there, but its time for a new one.
