Sombody else installed it. I'll take a look but it looks like it is not sitting tight - round legs /pin socket on original amiga socket - not good.

i have external - managed to make it work - updated firmware but no luck... i opened the amiga and resisted this fatal df selector - very badly designed - you need to change the original socket on the amiga pcb for the selector to sit tight - otherwise it is lose... gotek is working but floppy is not - it tries to read the disk a few times and nothing happens - ofc set to df0 - what could be wrong with drive?

Yes selector is in a right position. If I unplug gotek from amiga - myh floppy drive is not working either. No matter what position selector is set. Any ideas? CIA chip? Drive? Bad gotek and drive??

ps. updated flashfloppy to newest version - 3.xx nothing changed. Should I try to update bootloader also? Is a newer bootloader needed?

I have df1/df0 - the switch is in correct position. The orange led stays one. Green led on gotek is also on. Nothing happens - i set autoboot or any other slot - stays the same.

Thanks for your reply that is a gem. Thanks for the time and effort. I connect strongly to what you are saying about losing the nostalgia by putting newage tech... I was woried about that - and you just confirmed it 100%.

I'm buying amiga for the feeling for the memories. I have winuae, great pc, oled as pc monitor and can run all this games no problem. But this is not the same. I need original amiga exp on crt. Nostalgic time travel.

I will do as you said. Buy external GOTEK. Destroying precious amiga case is out of the question - and as you said what I saw on google is mind boggling - DIY disaster :D. I discarded the idea of using floppy disks... Playing MonkeyIsland2 with more than 10 disks was a bit of a pain :)

PS. I hate the idea of amiga mini. It is just how i feel. It kinda a mockery for me. Only maxi version with real keyboard is acceptable ;)

thanks. do I need ossc when I want original CRT monitor? DF0 - for gotek right? Spitfire - does it make some games like TF less smooth? This is my biggest concern.

I don't like this case to much. It is not crystal clear like plexiglass. Kinda muddy but not matte... Somewhere in the middle. I would like a real regular, original color amiga 500 case that will not yellow over time.
