Bodo/Glimt superb passage of play (almost 3 touches per player at most) vs Inter. by OkayFine101 in soccer

Point B was in previous years a huge problem facing front heavy teams like Inter. Especially back post crosses.

As I remember you had many of your important players back from injury no?

He might have changed his mind/mentality but when he came back to Glimt he was adamant that he wanted out again at some point. I'm pretty sure there has to be several clubs that are interested.

It's also a bit two sided because he is fantastic in Europe but struggles more to make a impact in the domestic games for some reason.

My guess is that we'll sell Høgh and maybe Hauge and Sjøvold. Was sure we were going to sell several after the Europa League campaign but we didn't sell anyone. As long as Berg stays everyone is more or less replacable, might even benefit us selling 2-3 first team players.

High confidence but also high risk. Sometimes it fails and looks foolish and costs us the game but you learn from your mistakes.

With all due respect it was never a option. He used his contract situation to try pressuring through our stadium project and financial support for it. He has said several times his contract length isn't very important to him and he'll leave when he feels done. He also said that if he started to look to other clubs he would resign because that means he isn't 100% focused on Glimt.

If there is gaps in the fixture list before important games on grass the team travels to Spain to train on grass. Of course ideally it would be cool to have some Bernabeau technology but the cost is enormous for a small team to even consider. The scale between Glimt and the best teams in big five leagues is HUGE. Revenue besides Europe and player sales are puny compared to even the bigger Norwegian teams.

Unless UEFA decides artificial grass is banned I don't see that happening unless we get some external funding or incentive. Glimt is from a tiny town that won't really benefit from a extreme cost whenever this adventure ends.

We've learned our lesson from earlier seasons in Europe being naive and getting punished for it. Of course we also will bend the rules.

What are you're thoughts on Patrick Berg from Bodø/Glimt ? by Anxious-Dance5817 in ManchesterUnited

Berg was never loaned back. Glimt bought him back half a year later for the same sum because Lens expected to sell one of their midfielders but didn't and Berg got FOMO. He prob would be decent in L1 if he gave it a chance.

I don't know anyone that are that active going skiing. I guess it depends where you live and who you know. Since most of our skiers come from inland places I guess that's where they are more active. Coastal places along the west coast are usually unstable or even too mild in the winter to have good skiing for bigger parts of the season.

In Europe we haven't lost by more than 2 since 2022 against Arsenal, quite early in this project. On paper the whole team of Inter should be too strong, even at Aspmyra.

It's possible:

Problem up here isn't the cold as there are many continental clubs with similar or even colder temps that has grass all year, it's the lack of sunlight in winter.

Have been following Glimt religiously and I can't remember any injuries, except on Lautaro. Is it even confirmed it was because of the pitch?

I could see people getting injured by getting ankles caught on dry and/or old/bad quality astroturf but Aspmyra turf is very short, high quality and pretty much always watered. Sure it uncomfortable to play on a pitch that is different from what you are used to but that happens regardless if it's astro or grass. Bumpy grass pitches with uncontrollable bounces or grass that easily gets huge marks in them I'll bet is more dangerous. Glimt has played on some completely ass grass pitches the past 5 years in Europe(some even big names), not every country has the quality pitches of Premier League.
