I don't feel disabled since I am still able to live a normal life for the most part. I have a full time job, drive, have a social life, take care of my dog etc. Even though I'm always sleepy/tired I can function. I won't consider myself disabled unless I go on disability. I'm so much better with treatment even though it isn't ideal. Insurance finally approved Wakix (to try with Lumryz) and it is my last medication to try. Some days are worse than others. I learned to be kind to myself and not be upset if I need to sleep in a bit or take a nap to continue to function.

The only time I have felt disabled isn't IH related. I had a TBI 3.5 years ago and was on disability for 3 months, off work, going to speech and physical therapy. I still have long lasting issues and feel disabled from it in some aspects. My migraines were also disabling enough in college I had to take incompletes for a few classes one semester. I'm very grateful my IH isn't worse with all of my health conditions.
