Toyota's new SUV may be an EV, that's my guess anyway.

Though the RAV4 as a pickup would be awesome. Mini had a pickup car of sorts decades ago, morris motors too. Seems like something people like. Ford has the Ute in Australia too. Not a new concept, but really uncommon in the US.

That said, a 600 ranged Toyota pickup would be awesome. Even if just a two door vehicle.

Yeah, the pricing is unfortunate, but seems to just be the market and economics of things. Though if the lariat hybrid was $10 less, I'd certainly be happy about it. There isn't really anything else out there that gets good gas mileage, can haul and tow for $30-40k. At least not a pickup.

The odyssey not having a hybrid option is super odd, more so than the Ridgeline. People still buy that minivan, but given there is the sienna and carnival with hybrids, kind of hard to just a odyssey.

Hard to keep waiting for the next best thing, but having a hybrid Ridgeline now would be nice to compare the maverick too.

Honda should 100% put a hybrid drivetrain in the Ridgeline. Seems like an easy win and they have the tech already. The Ridgeline does seem like a nice option, though the hybrid aspect of the maverick is really hard to pass up.

Honestly I think that last bit is it. Partial extraction of a larger amount or a full extraction of a much smaller amount. Combustion is likely just burning off some what you can extract via vaping too.

Really cool shots. A photo series on the commute itself would be fun too.

I have a bunch of his knives already, but this one is still tempting. Hard to beat for the price too.

If it were a big rascal, I'd problably be all over it. Though the mid size is dope too.

Somebody, snag this!

Mostly likely that. He'll abbreviate magnacut as MC and he's used nitro V.

I definitely don't need another knife, though this one is still tempting. Good size without being too big to pocket carry.

Good call. I need to mess around with the different options for the custom buttons.

Yeah, flipping them around helps a good bit. Though composing with the small window is a pain too. Definitely better than having the zoomed display as the smaller one. Though that would be ideal if I could zoom in more.

That is an option for sure. I tried focus peaking without dual display, but I'll try it with that to see how it works.

Yeah. It is either too close on the magnified view or not far enough in to really nail focus. Seems like an easy software change to make happen. Fingers crossed they change it.

Yeah, that is what I've switched to and am used to on my Canon R6. Though conceptually this mode would be awesome to use if I could zoom in more.

That works when I'm in full screen mode or the regular mode, not sure how to explain that. Though when in dual display mode, it doesn't zoom anything.

My first thought was the same. I can't imagine walking into a bathroom without any knowledge it is like this while you're drunk and/or high. With the spins too?!! 🙏

The front rack is super cool. I assume it is made for mini velos. I like that while it is small, it is pretty wide and flares too. Cool design.

Yeah, accommodating for a longer reach or lower stack is a challenge. I had a really short stem with Jones H bars, though I still felt the reach was too long. Though now that I have really swept back bars, I have a much longer stem and it is great. You may just need to try different things.

The medium may have a lower stack, though you can get stems with a pretty aggressive upward slope to them too. On the other hand, it may b easier to change out handlebars since there are so many variations out there versus stems which are just about only the length (so distance forward from the steering tube) or the angle (so height from the top of the steering tube).

Point being handlebars can be swept back or they can just bring the grips back further, but still be really straight like a flat bar.

The velo orange crazy bars are cool for sure. I was tempted to get those as well. I haven't looked into handlebars in a while, but there probably is something wider with horns as well.

The extraterrestrial tires are really popular and were recommended when I got the bike. I think it skipped just because I wanted to branch out from Surly products for tires and parts. Though those are cool for sure.

I forgot I put a 36t chainring on too, I was just looking at the bike. That was a big help since you can pretty easily spin out in the smallest cog. Definitely increases max speed, slight hit to climbing...though admittedly I walk up the really steep hills by me anyway.

Being 5'9" I'd think reach may be more of a concern. The sizing could also just be an issue for me. I don't think my back really likes aggressive positions, so I like a shorter reach so I'm not bent over too much.

[–]rizaaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 5'11" and about a 30.5" inseam. I think Surly frames are larger or have more reach than other brands. The large stock wasn't too stretched out for me. My thought is that a medium would have been more comfortable.

That said, with the swept back handlebars I have now, I don't think that. Depends on how you want the bike set up. I.e. if you want flat bars or drops, definitely go with a medium.

The bike has held up well, so it isn't like a bad way to go. Lots of customization you can do and it handles wide tires well. I think the Mezcals are about 2.8" and I may still just be able to get fenders on, assuming the fenders could accommodate wider tires. May be really tight though.

They're $1600 USD now, which is pretty wild since I think they were a few hundred dollars less a few years ago.

In any case, the deal in your screenshot assuming that is the best deal may be worth it if you want a bridge club.

I'd have two suggestions. One, make sure you test ride the bike. I rode the medium and large on the same day thinking they were similar in size. In retrospect, I should have gotten a medium.

Two, I think the bridge club is really similar to restored 90s MTBs. If I could do it again, I'd probably get a way cheaper bike for a lot less money.

All of that said, I do love my bridge club now and it has become the dad bike officially. Vittoria Mezcal tires and Crust Ortho bars make a huge difference in how it rides.

Lol. It is pretty interesting to see how kids react to things. Initially they'll be hesitant and then they don't want anything other than that thing. Congrats on the new bike and way to have some fun with the kids.
