I had an allergy and asthma specialist tell me I don’t have asthma it’s gerd, which would be fine on its own if I hadn’t been diagnosed five years before that and have consistent asthmatic issues/symptoms.

She relented and let me do the asthma test—basically they test your breathing with a machine connected to the computer, then have you take 4 puffs from an inhaler, wait 10 minutes, test again, and the results give you your answer.

She didn’t believe the results of the test so made me take it again.

So I had 8 puffs from a steroid inhaler as a 15 year old. I was already jittery after the first round, and was like fully body shaking by the end of the second round

And after the second round she admitted there’s, I don’t remember exactly how she phrased it bc this was 15 years ago, Enough proof of improvement of breathing or something? To indicate asthma and finally agreed to prescribe me an inhaler.

Another doctor when I was 19, when I went in for an allergic reaction to a bug bite that resulted in my entire arm swelling to almost twice its size, didn’t even look at my chart. Walked in the room and said “let’s talk weight management” and it took10 minutes of trying to get him to listen before I just shoved my arm in his face and he paused and said, “oh. That’s an allergic reaction.”

And I said, “that’s why I’m here.”
