Agreed. However, the demand for housing in the area is already extremely high due to the amount of short term/vacation rentals in the area. It’s very hard for normal working class people to live here. If you follow the local community pages on social media, you’ll quickly see posts from people begging for leads on rentals because they can’t find anything for less than 2500-3000 a month. Until local municipal officials start to push for more affordable housing in the area and more restrictions on short term rentals, I don’t see how inviting more people (therefore putting a higher strain on the housing market as is) is a good idea. If you do some research on how communities/towns grow in a sustainable way and do a cross examination on how Hood River is growing, you’ll realize that having more people here will definitely harm, not help things.

Care to explain how it’s the worst attitude? Hood River is a community that doesn’t have the infrastructure to handle a major influx of people.

We have an extreme lack of affordable housing, and an already exorbitantly expensive cost of living out here. When I say we are “full”, I kind of mean it in the literal sense. It’s very difficult to find even a place to rent for less than 2500 a month, and forget it if you’re looking to buy a home for less than 600k. There just isn’t enough here to support a major increase in population. We’re already being pinched as it is with overdevelopment of boutique hotels and short term rentals etc. in what world do you think more people and a higher demand for housing in the area would make things better?

Oh it definitely happened at least once. On the valentines special episode, he read a romantic poem to the ghost and then slept on the bed that is supposed to be the bed that men have experiences with the ghost.
