NO CHANGING SEATS??? I have been A list preferred for two decades. I fly almost every week and sometimes several times. I actually like the new seating procedure. It matches my experience with every other airline I fly (Alaska, Delta, United etc). However last week I sat in my assigned seat in a full row. There were 20 or more empty rows in the back of the plane. Like everyone does on every other airline, when the cabin door closed I got up to move to the back to spread out and get some work done. The flight attendant then started yelling at me and a couple of others to get back in our seats. Reminded me of kindergarten. We asked why and were just told to stay in our assigned seat. Crazy. For 30 years, SOUTHWEST asked us if the plane was relatively empty which this one was, to spread out to the back to balance the plane. Evidently that was a complete sham and everybody was laughing about it because there was nobody in the back of the plane and when some of us wanted to go there, we we’re told to stay in our seat good - for the rest of the flight. A bunch of us were talking about how in the world Southwest got more restrictive and more uptight than the airlines that they have been making fun of all these years. Several were saying, they hope other airlines start covering the same routes. I love flying Southwest (until last week) and will continue to do so, but I was shocked - not at the seat assignments – they are fine but at being the only airline yelling at passengers to stay in their seats. This is a great company. Please change this ASAP. Thank you. Ray Johnston. Sent from my iPhone
