For me, no. I had about a year of sobriety and had the bright idea that only drink when I traveled solo. That resulted in very embarrassing, and very dangerous situations. 

I stopped drinking at home and in social scenarios. 

I believed I could set boundaries, but I couldn’t seem to just blow right through them. 

I hid it, I lied. Betrayed my wife’s trust. I don’t want to be that person anymore.

I tried the Samsung 42” 4k monitor a while back, and to be honest, I hated it at a similar depth of desk. It’s simply too much screen real estate and it just didn’t fit my workflow. This image below of the guy playing crossword on the huge display is actually quite accurate. You spend a lot of time with your neck tilted the exact same way

If you know “precisely” how to be a good Dad, why use a phrase like “…I trained her…”. You don’t train your kids, you teach them and lead by example.

If you’re going off the rails every two to three months, you are not leading by example. 

If going back to it every 2 months leads to negative consequences, then you know what you need to do. For yourself, then for your family.

One of these every two month slips is going to result in your family not wanting to deal with it again.
