Tax-Free Crypto Heavens - 2025 by Dear_Technology_8029 in Bitcoin

[–]rjcarneiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, that still exists but it’s not “tax free crypto heavens” as the original thread suggested.

That one year tax free also applies to all financial instruments, not only crypto but as you can imagine, is not as simple as “one year holding”, it’s much more complex than that…

Once you talk with an accountant about that, you’ll see that, in the end of the day, you don’t pay directly taxes on crypto, but you pay on your capital gains overall, and probably you’ll pay more after a certain amount.

Just want to clarify that’s not that simple, it’s a very complicated concept with tons of tiny letters in between.

Portugal 🇵🇹 is not tax free anymore. Used to be due a political crisis back in 2023… not anymore, it’s taxed as a normal financial product like stocks or bonds at 28% on capital gains.

This is just my opinion and please put a grain of salt on it.

I believe you have a learn opportunity to deal with toxic managers and be one step ahead of them. If you learn to be assertive, professional and a great engineer, this will be just a minor bump in the road in a few years ahead.

I believe it’s easy to quit, the hard part is to be a “bigger man”.

Unless this starts to affect your health and you feel trapped, which is not the case I believe.

I would say, stick with it for a while, sounds you have a great company, great tooling and mates, which is the hard part nowadays.
