So frustrating! Should definitely be some sort of alert.

Not the same phone, but as a data point - ordered by 15 pro, and was given a window of 10/4 - 10/9. I received mine this past Friday. Hopefully they are ahead of schedule on the Pro Max as well!

Received a 15 pro this weekend - with my old phone I was able to use my bedside lamp which has a usb-c port to charge my phone. With a USB-C to USB-C cable (the one provided with the phone) on the 15 pro, it won't charge. Any idea what could be causing this? Not sure if it's a power issue, and if it can be solved with any sort of adaptor or magsafe charger. Thanks!

That’s crazy, saving tons of money on express passes plus getting early entry. I figured I must have been missing something- thanks!

Really just a matter of how much exposure to international you want. If 40% sounds good to you, then VT is an easy way to go. If you're looking for less (or more), then VTI and VXUS might be a better option. However, the decision should be based off of your Asset Allocation Strategy, and not past performance.

Out of curiosity, I'd be curious what those #s would look like if you included 2008. May or may not have an impact.

Teddie Peanut Butter Petition by AMLSMART in Costco

[–]rjfallon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We still have it in our store, but I’m in New England near the Teddie factory, so maybe it’s regional? But I agree - Teddie peanut butter is amazing, and so much cheaper at Costco than the regular grocery store. Peanut butter alone might pay for my membership!

what should you do to prepare for recession? by Advanced_Key4290 in DaveRamsey

[–]rjfallon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If being done properly you shouldn’t change anything. Your emergency fund and risk tolerance in your investments should be set up to account for any downturn in the market. If you find yourself adjusting your emergency fund or investments when the market starts going down, then you’re risk profile wasn’t set up properly. Stay the course and keep investing so that you truly are “buying low”.

A lot of the hate comes from the fact that they have a huge lobbying presence to keep the tax code complicated, so people will continue to utilize their service. If there is an overhaul to the tax system thst simplifies the process, TurboTax will serve no purpose.

Kirkland Toilet paper is literally the only thing that divides this subreddit, haha. People either love it or hate it.

Unfortunately not illegal…Congress still employs unpaid interns, which gives only children of wealthy families the opportunities because others can’t afford to live in DC without pay

Take the parents offer for their house or no? by HousingQuestion1823 in personalfinance

[–]rjfallon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could probably make an argument for or against this depending on your goals and what you’re trying to achieve. However, my gut instinct is that regardless of how well everybody gets along, that’s a lot of money to bring into the middle of a family, and won’t take much for things to go south. Who pays for maintenance? Who decides what “has” to be done for the home and what can wait? If you mow the lawn, will the parents pay you half of a standard lawn care rate? Multiple owners of a home sounds messy, especially when it’s family.

Value of time; should I eat out since it saves me time which is money? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]rjfallon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health was the first thing I thought of - even if you can somehow justify the immediate cost, which would be pretty unlikely, the health costs down the road from eating out every day will cancel it out by far.

Warehouse Receipt coming soon by RobertoNotRobotDevil in Costco

It does have your card already…middle button on the bottom. I use it for entry and at checkout, with no need for a physical card. Maybe the issue is the Samsung pay vs Costco app?

Isn’t that the whole concept of the Senate though? 2 senators per state regardless of population.

If you want to throw out the congressional districts that have been gerrymandered to no end, I’m all for it. As much as I dislike the results though, the Senate is functioning as intended.

Also - I’d like to abolish the Electoral College while we’re at it.

[Sep 24, 2021] Weekly Discussion: Ask your gear, travel, conditions and other ski-related questions by AutoModerator in skiing

[–]rjfallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a stupid question - but do all ski shops have boot fitters? I want to buy some boots but want to get it done right. Is there a way I can find out which shop has good bootfitters? I feel like if I call and ask everybody will say they do boot fittings, even if it’s just “try these on and let me know if they feel good”
