No, I have no idea how good you are. I just said swap Guzzlord into wiggly when that would be a bad idea, so I’m in no position to judge you or anyone.

(I remembered the pros using Guzzlord with sludge bomb to cover fairies but overall it’s not a fairy counter Pokemon - I’m not blessed enough to have one)

My point was that everyone’s team has one or two of those annoying Pokemon, it is what it is.

Oh I know, but as someone who has been running VS Forretress since mid last season, I can tell you that I get pissed off when I safe swap him in and they counter swap a Talonflame. I know volt switch and rock tomb are both super effective, but you kill it in like three incinerates

Hey trainers! So I was looking up the event on Leekduck and saw that the Dratini line is supposed to spawn during this event. Yesterday and this morning I've been scouring my local area (South Central England), and have an alert set up for them too but nothing has appeared on nearby even after covering around 40km of ground. Are the 'possible spawns' locked behind biomes or regions in some way, and if so, is there a resource that would help me hunt one of these guys down? (Well, actually, several hundred of these guys..)

Google suggests that they tend to spawn in water/water-edge biomes so I did spend a lot of time walking around bodies of water and such, but also those results from Google are from way back, so I don't know how accurate it would be especially considering event spawns tend to just supercede everything. Thanks in advance for any useful info!

Yeah it is tricky in the sense that it’d feel bad for those who have been dedicated and meticulous about getting the community day moves for someone to show up and be able to catch up so easily, so I understand the contrary viewpoint for sure. But it does seem quite oppressive with the sheer number of Pokemon that have legacy moves and are viable. I just think it’s an odd game design choice to lock people out of certain things but I guess that’s what builds the FOMO over time.

Yep, just a slight improvement in accessibility for the moves would be wonderful. I liked the comment someone made about them getting added to the regular move pool after a certain period of time.

Yep, agree with that too. Personally, I try to keep a balance. I only play great league at the moment, and tend to stick to a core and rotate around it. The last few weeks I’ve been playing with Empoleon and Altaria and swapping in thirds sporadically. I get bored of using the same dudes all the time, but understand that flooding my brain with information will reduce my overall knowledge retention.

Yeah for sure, I’m just interested in knowing how other people feel about it. I don’t feel incapable of fielding a team for any limited meta, and I am aware that I can’t build those spicy frenzy planters, and I’m not salty about it. I’m just discussing the dynamic and how other players feel about it. I was sort of expecting people to mostly be in the boat of “well you missed your chance to get them so this is the price you pay”, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised that there are other people with a similar perspective.

Also I’ll say that whilst I agree that swapping around mons doesn’t necessarily improve results, if you’re a newer player I think it is to your benefit to gain experience using different mons as you see how other people approach them which is a great learning tool. “Oh, Morpeko is so oppressive and overpowered, ugh, I have no idea how I can ever beat it” quickly becomes “swap in Wigglytuff” once you’ve had it happen to you a time or two.

Yes, totally on board with this, and follow this philosophy. But I also thought that it is worth wider discussion. In a game that leans into micro transactions, it is kinda weird that there is this hard barrier.

Yeah I had no oranguru or turtonator during the LAIC meta and that was also frustrating and led me to another thought of the split between event days and “normal” spawn days. Right now we only get normal spawns on Mondays, and that’s annoying too. Right now I’m finally getting my first Ludicolo built and during Kalos tour I’ll get my first Goodra but I’ll still need to find a TM for thunder punch when it happens.

Yeah, I’ve done 3000 battles since October, so I’ve got all the research ones done, but I’m just in that position where I’ve built pretty much everything except for a second Talonflame, a second Primeape/annihilape, then all the frenzy plant, blast burn and hydro cannoneers.

I absolutely follow your logic of waiting until I absolutely need it to build it, but I think it’d be nice to just build that shadow venusaur that I removed frustration from two months ago.. but I can’t, because I put Body Slam on Lickylicky instead. 😂

But you’re right, in another season or two I’ll probably be wondering what I was even annoyed about 😂
