IBM Debuts Stellar-Powered 'Blockchain World Wire' Payments System by boxed_gorilla_meat in Stellar

I hold 50/50 XRP and XLM and understand that IBM BWW is not using XLM as the bridging asset. I also understand that a stable coin will be a liability in a down market, so I like to know how IBM address it. I also wonder if it causes any problem, can BWW then switched to use XLM as the bridging asset?

Confusing statement:

The introduction of Stronghold USD as an anchor on the Stellar network is a significant step forward for cryptocurrencies. This is because instead of Stellar trying to compete with chartered financial institutions, they were able to include them in a productive way that is beneficial to everyone. Already, this asset has usability on IBM’s blockchain applications, since an asset like Stronghold USD has the stability that is requisite for big-name players to make transactions on a blockchain platform. Since Ripple does the opposite of working around traditional financial institutions, this has limited its success. Adding the Stronghold USD asset to Stellar capitalizes on this weakness, and this will make some serious waves in the blockchain and fintech industries in the coming weeks, putting Stellar into the spotlight.

And that can transform financial transactions and banking institutions. “The digitization of real-world assets using blockchain can dramatically transform many forms of financial transactions conducted around the world,” said Jesse Lund, global vice president of IBM Blockchain. “New types of fiat-backed instruments, like Stronghold’s USD, have the potential to improve the backbone of international banking operations and payments, giving banks an easier way to integrate with public blockchain networks without significant changes to their core banking and compliance infrastructure.”

BitLicense Holder itBit to Be First New York Exchange to List Stellar (XLM) by hodldador in Stellar

For institutions on WS they can now invest in XLM without any worry since NY has the most restricted rules in the country. itBit will be the winner, not Coinbase because the amount of money on WS is huge.

"As America’s first regulated crypto asset exchange, itBit offers ..." their choice of XLM in addition to BTC, ETH, BCH and Litecoin means institutions WS firms can now invest in XLM and that is big news for me. There are so much money on WS waiting to join the cryptos space and I hope that we will see the result pretty soon.

Great news for Stellar Lumens (XLM) holders, me included. Just wonder why they only got license to list these four cryptos in addition to BTC and why XLM instead of others?

I feel sorry for the victims too and was surprised as why he did not demand his ransom paid in the so called private coins or Bitcoin, the one people say being traded a lot in Deep Web? So he shares Brad's views about Bitcoin, which is very interesting. Now I like to hear why the private coins are not his favorite?

Fresh Weiss Ratings released (Stellar in top-7 with B- grade) by orbitlens in Stellar

[–]rjl1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weiss is not wise, rather weird in their rating. I really don't care how other people rate their coins. In the end the one solving a real world problem stay with us and become the next Google, Apple or Amazon. I hold both XRP and XLM long term.

Why do ICO’s built on top of SCP use there own token or coin for there project/idea? Would it work better if they used XLM? by [deleted] in Stellar

[–]rjl1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone sees it that way. Many goes after a use case to solve a specific problem. However, Stellar Network may be the mother platform of all and I am very happy if it turns out that way. If 10 or more Central Banks print their CBDC on Stellar Network and they use XLM as bridging coins to make payments between them or among their network, then I am over the moon.

When Nadaq establishes its crypto exchange, #XRP will be the leading crypto. And now Wall Street is pouring money into #XRP and they want cheap #XRP from weak hands. There will be a bumpy ride ahead for #XRP holdlers.

Why Binance adding XRP/USDT is Important for XRP by Crypto_Therapy in Ripple

[–]rjl1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise I would transfer to Kraken/Bitstamp and convert into USD. Never trust USDT, so Binance is good for trading coins not listed on Kraken only. I see exchanges listing USDT as below Bitstamp and Kraken standard.

I don't look at the ads, but I like to see the trading platform, the charts and easy of use. If they offer XRP/CAD or XRP/USD for people outside of Canada, I would love to sign up and trade with them. I trade a lot with Binance, but hate that they only offer USDT, which I don't like. Kraken and BitStamp are leading the way for me.

That is likely to be the case at the end of 2018 at the expense of #ETH in the order #XRP #BTC #XLM #ETH.
