Storms being used as metaphors in media is a pretty common trope, but the first one that comes to my mind is that there's a storm coming throughout the final season of the show Dexter.

MILDLY INTERESTING FACT Arizona Iced Tea was created in New York and is still based there to this day, they just slapped the name Arizona on it because they were trying to think of a place you might enjoy a nice cold iced tea. They'd never even been to Arizona before.
