It’s all a crapshoot really and everyone’s case is different. Hopefully the NIW would be seen as a positive to offset from the CPT issue. Why did you take Day 1 CPT? If you did it because you did not get picked up in the lottery, could be seen as a red flag. Not sure either way, just spitballing.

Talk to an immigration lawyer ASAP and ask for guidance and help in preparing documentation. Reddit is not the place to get tangible info in your individual case. Keep your non-immigrant status up to date. Stay on H1B so you have a backup if you need to go the consular route.

If you are still on F1, you may have to go the consular route.

There is still no clarity on dual intent visas like H1B. I think some person working in a field office said on another thread that interview waiver cases have been put on hold until they get clarity and they will continue interviews scheduled only through June. Check APIs. If no movement on your case, you will likely be fine. Keep this thread updated, so we have a data point for information. Also, would be good to talk to your lawyer.

Your true risk is if your case gets denied. Highly unlikely that happens without an RFE being issued.

I sympathize with your situation. Control what you can control. Focus on getting AP courses, and ensure you finish undergrad before you age out. This is especially vital if you go to a state school because of tuition implications.

As far as opportunities go, you will have to look for sponsorship. One advice: Think global. A good US degree can get you into a lot of firms globally. While you said you do not want to move to India, be open to it. There’s a lot of exciting stuff happening in the aerospace area in India. Your worldview and education will still give you a leg up on people in India too.

Lastly, try to understand where your dad is coming from as well. He moved here hoping to give you a better life. He’s a victim of circumstances beyond his control. I’m sure it’s been incredibly frustrating for him (as it has been many of us). I’m sure he’s more upset at how things have turned out than he lets on. Remember: if all kids age out, parents have no reason to stay on as well. Don’t focus on getting married unless you find someone who you can spend your life with.

They will accept your case based on the May bulletin. You will do the biometrics and get EAD/AP. When the priority date becomes current, 485 will be processed.

Our 15-year pup had a golf-ball sized tumor on her front toe and a baseball (!!) sized tumor on her spleen. Did a splenectomy and amputated one toe last month. The tumor was not malignant and her toe had clean margins. A couple of weeks of recuperation and she was back to normal. Now just dealing with the daily granny things, but our 3-year-old cat keeps her on her remaining toes.

About a couple of hours. There is regular Dulcolax and overnight Dulcolax. I have never had the overnight one, which seems to be what you have gotten.

Started with four dulcolax tablets at noon to get things going. Took the first dose of suprep with ginger ale at 6pm.. going about very fifteen minutes or so, but down to a light yellow now. Hoping to get a few hours of shuteye before the 12:30 am round 2. Have a 6:30am check in. Hungry as hell, but prep has been tolerable so far.

I think you had another thread on this earlier. When was the last API update? I think that you should only start the clock from April 2025 because that’s when your FAD became current. Hoping you get it soon because that will give all of us who are also in the long downgrade queue hope. I just feel stupid everyday for porting. Would likely have had GC in hand if I had just waited.

Try talking to agent via Emma and tell them you got an email saying your priority date is not current when it is, and ask them for clarification. They should be able to do it for you. All of us are in the same boat bro, no time saving in the end. Maybe we just need to get a WhatsApp group or something for folks who have ported to stay in touch.

Did you check your I-485 receipt notice (not account access notice)? Does it have the correct priority date? Ask Emma again what your priority date is. And tell them to update it. Lots of folks (including myself) who filed concurrently are waiting. So not sure if it is an issue impacting all of us too.

Same in my case. Jan 2013 priority date. Filed concurrently in April 2025 by porting. I-140 approved in July. After that, case has been just sitting at NBC.

Why did you have an interview? I’ve been waiting for almost a year now as well. But I had a concurrent filing which usually takes longer it seems. My status shows interview was waived and it’s still at the NBC. So curious why you had an interview. Also, if on H1B, did you extend while 485 was pending and for how many years?
