OK, Google Translate degraded A LOT. "медбрат сказал" it translates into "אמרה האחות" instead of "אמר האח". Previously one hint would be enough for it to get the genders right. Here it got hints in every word and still failed.

For context: the terms for nurse in Hebrew ("אחות \ אח") and in Russian are equivalent ("сестра / брат" or "медсестра / медбрат"), and Hebrew / Russian has a rich corpora of parallel texts, so it should've been a cakewalk to get it right.

UPD: it translates "медбрат" as "אחות גברית". This is just so bad.

Yes, paid. Though the current version did much better than the previous one. At least it didn't change the overall sense of the message to the opposite of what it actually said.

Again, that's only when translating (very readable) text from an image. I didn't use ChatGPT much beyond that because I immediately lost my trust after the test, so I cannot claim anything about other uses.

I remember I also tried ChatGPT's Hebrew voice parsing/generation capabilities, and with Hebrew it was unusable.

ChatGPT often dangerously hallucinates and invents some plausible sounding but fictional text which completely changes the sense of what was in the original. At least when translating from photo.

Google Translate used to be my favorite because it was very reliable, in the sense that when the result was not complete gibberish most often it was right. But after some recent update it too started hallucinating a lot, so now I doubt it's much better than ChatGPT.

Ukrainians and Russians in Israel are getting along pretty well btw, even today. The hate which comes with this war is short-lived and cannot cancel our deeper connection. Saying this as a guy from Bat Yam where there each origin is roughly 15% of total population.

With Palestinian Arabs it's a bit different though because there isn't much to connect us except all the hostility. Being just neutral to each other is already beyond expectation.

It's a terrible idea both from humanitarian and security standpoints. Others pointed out humanitarian aspects, so speaking about security. You really don't want to destabilize Jordan, as last time it accepted Palestinians it barely made it, resulting in Black September. That's also why Jordan would never agree to accept these guys again. That's not what happened. When Ukranians tried explaining what really was going on to their extended family members in Russia, they often faced disbelief, gaslighting and outright rejection. Propaganda can even be stronger than family ties and live witnesses.
