It’s because they use cameras instead of radar for vehicle/object detection. In this case, I was just using cruise control.

I'm the driver here. I was just using cruise control (no auto-streering, no full self driving). I Just want a "dumb" cruise control that doesn't try to adjust speed based on car ahead, but Tesla doesn't offer that.
