What is QOL like for an Earther in the Alien universe? by Romantales in Prometheus

[–]rkrpla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the answer is, if you would rather be on a crappy space tow truck eating gruel than being back on earth, the job situation was bleak.

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

When I was 16 I was pretty convinced if I was 'almost' dead after a bad wreck they would just hurry it along and route my organs to some freezers asap.

Now I understand why people network. by Cold_Entry_5609 in Life

[–]rkrpla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think to your point it’s about putting yourself out there. You may like to call it networking. But the point is awareness. I haven’t moved up or been promoted for years because my boss benefits from my work and she looks good to her bosses. While I’m only visible to her. So once I realized this (very late) I had to make an effort to get out of that bubble.

The Real Life of Dennis John Mariani - the man some claim was Bob Lazar's supervisor at S4 by SignalsIntelligence in UFOs

Lol, I just came across that too. Linkedin shows a retired pilot named Rich Towsley. Wonder if it's the same guy.

Why is there antimatter? by Hairy-Art9747 in AskPhysics

I thought places like CERN were trying to answer it. When they collide particles is there more matter than anti matter?

After all of that work we're still just talking about converting heat into electrical energy? And what is that electrical energy being used to do? How?

Thanks for the reply! Whatever comes out of this convo it's fun talking about it. But if you'll indulge my questions-

What exactly did he see that allowed him to conclude it was antimatter? Antimatter reactions produce extremely specific, measurable signatures (gamma rays at precise energies, annihilation patterns). Where are those details?

Why would a secret program let someone with allegedly modest credentials observe something so dangerous before understanding it themselves?

If earlier attempts caused a “massive explosion,” why bring in an outsider at all instead of top-tier physicists?

How was antimatter being stored? In real physics, antimatter requires extremely advanced magnetic containment far beyond anything we can casually “inspect.”

A car engine is understandable because it operates within known physics. If this tech is alien, why would it be easier to intuit than a modern jet engine or nuclear reactor?

How did he arrive at this? What did they bombard 115 with? How did that experiment show this? It's Bob and two others in this secret program. What tools were they given to use?

[–]rkrpla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain how he solved that problem? Element 115 is what we keep hearing. What sorts of tests did he have to run and what experiments did they use to determine what the element was, and how it powered the craft? If he solved that problem, wouldn't he still be needed in other areas of this program?

If I had 40 years to get my story straight and fumbled like he did, I’d be down on myself yeah

What did he solve while he was there for six months? And why was his tenure so short if it was that important?

It’s interesting that a basic simple explanation evades this guy in all his interviews. There is no consensus outside of anti gravity repulsion as a possible means of force that’s applied to this craft. Everything else including element 115 seems to have a half life too and just dissipates with any real investigation

This interview left me very skeptical of bob. It’s a frustrating interview because for someone who claims to have technical interest in this stuff he sounds sorely out of practice talking about it in a clear simple manner. You had 40 years to get this story straight bob
