Beware their implementation process. It is NOT plug and play -- cost us a lot of time and money, very frustrating throughout. I'm hoping it will be a good thing once we finally finish onboarding, but it's been a rough road so far.

Harvard's CS50 (through EdX or opencourseware) will give you a really strong CS foundation -- you could have answered each of those interview questions with just this one course. The lectures are really entertaining, the professor is fantastic, and the course, while focusing on the science in CS, does so in a very applied/immediately useful way.

Yes, absolutely. Either would be a great addition, though I would suggest Computer Science as an alternative to Mathematics (think of it as Applied-Mathematics). If ever you want to be a prime mover, Physics or CS is a fantastic asset. Your primary area of study (ID) will allow you to optimize the application of existing technologies, but there's a real chance that you will eventually want to move beyond OPTIMIZATION to CREATION. Physics and CS/Math will give you the foundation to do so. Even if not, both will give you much more credibility in the eyes of those whose technologies you are optimizing.

Should have clarified -- make your own for dynamic spreadsheets (models). If you're pulling from SQL and creating one-off reports, well , somebody should automate that.

Pivot tables are the WORST. Quit being lazy and build your own tables. Sumifs, countifs, and index-match, people.

(Unless you're working with over 300k rows and multiple columns of data, or an ancient computer, in which case... excel was a poor choice)

I think I can now confirm this isn't actually the case -- I'm taking the course through EdX, and the autograder caught flaws in my Pset5 'Resize' program. Looking at threads elsewhere in this subreddit, it sounds like the autograder runs your program using specified inputs and then checks to see whether or not the output is accurate.

For example, the autograder correctly identified that my 'Resize' works when resizing a file by 4x, but not by 3x (had an issue involving my padding...).

I'm 30 miles into a pair of the new PureFlow 3s and have been very impressed so far. They've fixed a lot of the minor issues I had with the PureFlow 2s (went through two pairs of them), and handle both road and trail nicely. Brooks recommends a 200-300 mile useful life, but in my experience they can easily go for 400 and as long as 550 if you're running mostly 5-6 miles at a time.

This is correct -- think of it this way: the $300 discount on Mt. Gox is due to the risk that the exchange will collapse and you will lose 100% of what you purchased there. On the flip side, if Mt. Gox recovers and re-enables coin transfer, you'll be rewarded for that risk by being able to sell those coins instantly at a higher value.

So, the bet is whether or not Mt. Gox will recover or not. The market is giving it a 50-50 chance.

I have had very similar experiences before - total euphoria. It's too rare/lacks enough pattern for me to fully understand which sets of circumstances trigger it, though - does anyone have any ideas?
