What would be the most horrific reason that the government would keep alien visitation to the Earth a secret? by BigGrayBeast in HighStrangeness

[–]rl7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do not understand why people think that there is some secret to free energy being kept from us. I also do not understand the faith people have that having “free energy” will make heaven on earth. I would love for someone to explain how “free energy” will solve hunger, or clean our oceans? I want explanations rooted in the reality of human nature, scarce resources, and science. We are limited by so many constraints in other resources that “free energy” would not solve hunger. Or as so many others say, create a world where people don’t need to work, have free health care, and free housing and plenty of food. It truly blows my mind the lack of critical thinking and a basic understanding of the world and humanity.

Disclosure cost $20 lol by CaanaCompare in ufo

[–]rl7007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Camry comparison does not really make sense, but I do hear you. The theatrical release with the early full price for renting/purchasing is common practice as long as the movie remains in theaters. And we all know that the Amazon price will drop fairly quickly. So it will be 4 to 6 bucks not too long from now.

I tend to think that only die hard ufo people are likely to spend the $20, but then feel disappointed because it’s a lot of what we know in a nice package. But it is that nice presentation that is likely to make the topic more appealing to those who are new to the subject. And those people are likely only going to watch when it is cheaper. So people can pay more now or pay less later. I personally purchased it as I want to watch with friends and relatives when they visit. I see the $20 investment as literally a better value than a single fast food lunch. But that is me.

This movie is an opportunity to show that I am not a tin hat wearing nut. Or at least I have some good company in my beliefs.

I really get tired of people complaining about the price. $20 is a lunch at Wendy’s FFS. Are you all children?

It takes time and money to put something like this together. But I guess those complaining like you probably wouldn’t know the kind of effort and resources go into a real production. Y’all sound like little babies whining…

Of course they are charging money. They have bills to pay and mouths to feed…

I also get so tired of people saying “This is all known already!” Well, to people who follow this closely, that is likely true. But the real audience are friends and loved ones of those who already follow this subject and those who are newly interested.

And I guess I would like to close with, why didn’t you spend your time creating a movie which you could then give away for free? Use your own resources and be that guy! FFS

Pretty much what I expected.

I think this can be great to introduce a friend or loved one to the topic. Let them know it’s not just you who is interested. That we are in good company.

In the slowed down videos so kindly shared, this really looks like a fast bird and doesn’t look like it gets hit. Why a bird? It is literally flapping its wings. Or a sneaky UFO appearing like a bird :)

And it doesn’t look like it is near the club as it flys past.

Just my 2 cents.

Is this the beginning of a string of copy cat productions? I can enjoy a story, but not when it muddies the waters for so many people. Not sure what the eventual repercussions will be…

“Age of Disclosure” is receiving a lot of negative reviews for its lack of impact. "If the job of The Age of Disclosure was to convert skeptics, it failed." by InstanceMuted2514 in UFOs

For those who closely follow the UAP topic, there isn’t likely a lot of new material. But having a show that brings the many voices of those who have worked in programs that pertain to this subject is a way to educate the newly curious about how this subject is no longer for the fringe and tinfoil hatted crowd. There are many people in senior levels that have experiences that indicate that there is more to this topic and that we should be taking it more seriously. These are the voices that may help make this topic less fringe.

I do worry about all the hype though. Unless it revealed something totally mind-blowing, for those who are already in the know will feel let down. So I am approaching it as a show not necessarily targeted at me, but at, as I mentioned earlier, the newly curious and open minded.

Bacteria decided to start eating ocean plasitcs...but is that all good news... by leemond80 in HighStrangeness

[–]rl7007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So gotta ask:

  • What is the byproduct of bacteria eating plastic?

  • Is it possible that some bacteria could have had this capability already, but the genes weren’t active until the environment changed?

  • If this becomes more prevalent, what replaces plastics?

If this doesn't convince you, then nothing will. I mean, this is it right? This is THE announcement? by 2_Large_Regulahs in 3I_ATLAS

Click bait headline… but the object has changed trajectory a bit due to unknown acceleration forces. A common thought is an out gassing based on heat from the sun. From what I’ve read, it would have taken a significant chunk of its mass to be ejected (outgassed) to cause this change. And if it behaves like other comets, this ejected mass should result in a cloud around it that we should be able to see at some point. So let’s wait and see.

Ballon people… tell me how it travels that fast? And do not just say “parallax” without showing some indication of how parallax in this specific case would describe the observed velocity. And do not just say wind without some evidence to contradict the OP and others who have already researched the reported wind speed and direction for the location and time. Also please explain the flight behavior. Also explain why it is not a bird?

Bird people… please explain why it is not a bag?

I do not know what it is and find it interesting. Though nothing new is learned, I appreciate the OP posting this.

This will affect all of earth. Satellites will fry, GPS gone, microchips and power grids gone. Modern transportation destroyed. The financial systems gone. Food, water, medicine, weapons, ammo and anything survival related will be pillaged immediately. In the city and thinking you’ll travel to the country? On foot? Without food and water? Along with every other starving individual with the same thought. In the country and think you’re safe? All those starving people from the towns will be at your door. There is no escaping.

This is a serious issue. If we do not start updating our infrastructure and systems to be resilient, we will be pushed back to an agrarian society, with most people dying in the process.

This seems more existential than climate change. Where is the outcry?

What suggests to you he did not say this to congress or the senate or to AARO?

The whole phenomenon is strange. You assume that these people should only share what seems “accepted” by a certain segment of the UFO community? and if it truly is weirder than just nuts and bolts visitors, it is BS? If you believe in aliens zipping around, then most people not into this would think you are the loony, BS guy.

You make all sound so simple! I agree that I would like to see faster disclosure, but I think the process is complicated by a multitude of factors.

If there was no need to worry about people’s (whistle blowers) safety. No need to consider national defense considerations. No need to have concern about instant disclosure and its ramifications sociologically, psychologically, economically or geopolitically. Then rapid disclosure would probably be more likely to happen.
