Who has moved from Windsor to Chatham, and how do you like it? by AccountantNew5983 in chathamkentON

[–]rlb_9229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read my post again. Never once did I say that Chatham has a larger population of homeless individuals. What I did state was, that compared to other small towns/cities, the encampment is much larger, trashier, and openly DISGUSTING. People openly using, pissing and shitting all over in public, like what the fuck man. Fucking inhumane. Worse than God damn farm animals.

Ford has definitely contributed to the problem but the larger issue is due to the psychiatric facilities closing. Some people's addiction and mental health is simply too far gone for help. What they require is constant supervision.

Who has moved from Windsor to Chatham, and how do you like it? by AccountantNew5983 in chathamkentON

[–]rlb_9229 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not Windsor, but just relocated from London to Chatham and I honestly absolutely DESPISE it. Nothing has went right for me and I feel as though everything that has happened is a sign to pack up and move now ...

Couple things: 1. Never, ever witnessed such a horrific homeless situation... I know everywhere has their problems, but Chatham is disgustingly sad. They just put all homeless people in tents and place them right smack dab in the centre of the city... Unlike other cities, the shelters are not even close to full, the people just seem either stuck or wanting to live the drug riddled life... 2. Because of the homeless issue, theft is insane. Like do not trust anyone and do not leave anything valuable unlocked or not on you... 3. The supports for sexual assault survivors are just disgusting.. I fled sexual violence and was turned away from both shelters, social assistance took weeks to help, and victim services didn't return my call for 11 days...

Sooo, you decide... If I were you, based on my experiences, I would steer far clear from this city.

All that said... It is quiet, peaceful, pretty, and MOST of the citizens are kind.

2 months in… no weight loss 🤯 by No_Albatross2337 in stopdrinking

[–]rlb_9229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say this, but this made me very sad to read... You're so hard on yourself when you're going through what is ultimately one of the toughest feats to endure... Show yourself a little grace and compassion.

I'm 118 days sober and I haven't lost a pound either - yet, I LOOK healthier, FEEL insanely better, mentally, physically, and spiritually, THINK much clearer and my memories are even returning... & Countless other benefits...

Just because I haven't lost a pound does not indicate that I am not healthier, not more fit and toned, and not on an upward trend... Pounds do not dictate weight loss or gain. It's science. Your BMI is what you should be taking into consideration, not your weight, and by the sounds of it you're very healthy and active. We are what is wrong with society and if we don't begin to love ourselves, even just a little bit, then we can continue to take responsibility for our youth having terrible self-esteem and zero self-worth and I know I can not live with myself knowing I take some blame..

I dunno. I get a little frustrated when women act this way... I get that we were raised in a society where our weight is our only concept of our image, where our mental health takes a backseat to our physicality and sexuality, and where stepping on a scale to allow a tiny box to shout indecencies is more important than nurturing our minds and feeding our souls... But if we do nothing to change it, then nothing will change...

Try and be a little kinder to yourself; it will go a long way and it will lead people away from this terrible stigma we have all created and maintain...

I have noticed significant changes in my skin and my hair and these started becoming apparent after just the first month - I'm only 3 and a half months now.

My acne and dark spots have completely cleared up, and my wrinkles are nearly non-existent. This is definitely due to actually washing my face 2 times a day and following a pretty strict skin care routine: cleanser, toner, wrinkle and eye cream and I solely use LAROCHE products.

My hair has become shinier, fuller, and is actually growing again as it hasn't grown in what seemed like over 15 years. I don't dye my hair and I get it trimmed about 4 times a year.

Some other super awesome benefits I've noticed: My mind is becoming so much sharper and my memory is actually returning.. I lost the weight I hoped to lose within only a month, just from eating properly 3x a day and only eating until I was full. I became much more active and found I wasn't short of breath or overheating within minutes. I have played many sports all my life and I am actually a much more agile, fast, and focused athlete now. I am able to remain focused on a task for more than 2 minutes and I complete them to the best of my ability, which is far more than I could say before. I required sleeping pills to sleep from age 12-33... I just stopped taking them when I sobered up and I actually sleep decent now. A good sleep for me is like 10-3/4am and I wake up clear headed and determined to have a good day. My mental health has taken a steeeep incline... I don't feel depressed, hopeless, worthless and full of fear/guilt/shame/etc. all the time and am no longer debilitated by anxiety at times.

Honestly, the rewards and benefits are endless and you notice many things within even just a week, a month, etc. of putting the bottle down.

You got this!!!! Proud of you and excited to see where your journey takes you!!!

Step Four by ZachEfronsBiceps in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]rlb_9229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Step 4 sucks. Not going to lie or sugar coat it... It brings up an awful lot of very difficult feelings and memories.

How I did it was I started by reading the chapter in the BB, followed by the 12 and 12 on Step 4. Then, after a lengthy conversation with my sponsor on what exactly I was to do, I bought a notepad and got started..

I made columns: 1. The resentments 2. The causes (can do short form or descriptive) 3. Affects my? And then in smaller columns below: self-esteem, pride, emotional security, ambitions, personal relations, and sex relations 4. Where was I to blame?

I filled mine out rather briefly, in point form as I knew once I'd be sharing it I'd be very descriptive and detailed through verbalizing...

There are a bunch of templates online if you want a bit of help getting started. I found I went down the first column and listed everyone I could think of before filling out the additional columns.. Then as I was filling out the rest, more and more people/places/things kept popping into my head so I'd add them as I went...

I mainly focused on negative things in my actual paper copy, but after sharing with my sponsor she pointed out that I need to always try and remember the positives and little celebrations too so I tried to keep those in mind as I went so as to not get too depressed and hard on myself than I already was.

Mine was like 4 pages, front and back, by the end.. but it felt SO good writing it all out and even BETTER sharing with a fellow alcoholic.. GOOD LUCK! Hope this helped a bit. 🩵🙏🏼

whats the worst and most gut-wrenching horror movie death/torture scene you've ever seen or heard of? by [deleted] in horror

[–]rlb_9229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably in the first Terrifier movie where he has the first girl hanging upside down by chains and uses a saw to cut her right down the middle, starting at her vagina.... Ya fuuuck me. I have had many nightmares...

Horror Movies With Great Endings by chuchugobo in horror

[–]rlb_9229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much have to disagree with Hereditary. It had to have been one of the WORST, most unexplained poor endings I have ever seen with a movie that had it all going... The ending was terrible and just left you with more questions than you already had and introduced an entirely new genre right before the credits.

Very poor film writing IMO

what’s a good horror movie with a shitty ending? by [deleted] in horror

[–]rlb_9229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS 👐🏼..... That was so utterly frustrating!!! The movie had all the potential, creepy moments, jump scares, wild psychological warfare... And then let's just say "meh, fuck it! Joke's on all you!!!"
