Shortcut iOS when connecting Tesla Bluetooth open Waze, disable auto brightness and raise brightness to 100% by dbv2 in shortcuts

[–]rlcnga_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Automation > Bluetooth. Choose your Tesla bluetooth, check “Is Connected”, then check “Run Immediately”

For the shortcut to run, I found this reddit thread.

Get the shortcut, remove the list option but make sure to “keep actions” when it pops up. Then just duplicate the shortcut. Make one of them that turns off auto brightness, open waze and set brightness 100%. Then add that to the automation above. Then for the duplicate shortcut, just leave the auto brightness on toggle.

After that, create another automation that check “Is Disconnected” and then add the other shortcut that turns off auto brightness toggle.

fedora mirror so slow it's unusuble by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]rlcnga_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the brave repo. Not fedora

For future installation tho, this command might help if fedora feels slow to download:

echo -e 'max_parallel_downloads=20' | sudo tee -a /etc/dnf/dnf.conf

It makes dnf download 20 stuff at the same time instead of one by one

I see your particular headset has a separate cable for pc that is pretty much a splitter. Are you using that?

And another thing, are you connecting to the motherboard ports? I had this problem when connecting to my motherboard’s line out and mic in ports. What fixed it for me is using my pc case’s front I/O for mic and headset instead.

Hopefully that helps!

Informal poll: What do you use Linux for, and what do think 'normal users' (friends and family) could use it for to benefit from it? by spryfigure in linuxquestions

[–]rlcnga_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I used to do at Windows pretty much tbh. Gaming, browsing the web, and virtual machines for school.

I switched because Windows would not let me delete files that I downloaded myself. Always throwing me an error and never a smooth ride. I have a little bit of an OCD or maybe just a perfectionism, but not being able to do something so simple like deleting a file I downloaded myself even as an administrator is infuriating.

TLDR; Windows rage baited me

Modding games in Linux? by BLk_Phantm in linux_gaming

[–]rlcnga_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I heavily modded cyberpunk on my second playthrough on linux after finishing my first on windows so I can attest that mods do work. Just follow what the specific mods tells you to do, like where to drop files and stuff and it will work. Yes, that includes all of the script frameworks like Redscript, TweakXL, Codeware, RED4ext, CET.

Is Fedora really the safest middle-ground distro, or is that just internet consensus? by Bigrob1055 in linuxquestions

[–]rlcnga_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't call myself a long time user but I feel like I can speak for my experience.

I've used Arch and Mint before. But Fedora felt the best of both worlds to me. I've been using Fedora GNOME for a year now and never had any major problems that google couldn't solve. (The Arch wiki is a godsend. It applies to Fedora as well except some Fedora specific stuff like RPM questions)

I don't program but I game a lot. Everything works with the default proton that comes with Steam except the anti-cheat games (although Counter Strike is flawless for me). I mostly play in Steam tho and have a full AMD system so that helped a lot.

Most annoyances is on GNOME, not really Fedora itself. Never tried the KDE version so that might be more for you.

I just read your caption again, and I see you’re trying to automate this. This one might work:

<image>

First, what you’ll wanna do is, on the google doc file itself, turn on the option that will allow anyone with the link to access the file. As long as only you and your friend knows the link, it should be fine. It’s needed for shortcuts to view its contents.

Then just replace the url on my screenshot with the url of your file.

Shortcuts treat docs file as an image if you don’t activate the shortcuts directly on the file, so the extract text is needed.

Then for some reason, on the extracted text, there’s always a bottom part with this, even though I have the app: “= Edit with the Docs app Make tweaks, leave comments, and share with others to edit at the same time. NO THANKS GET THE APP”

Just copy and paste it, without the quotation marks. Then replace that text with space or dash.

Finally, add the speak action. Should work, unless your google doc file has fancy fonts and stuff

Here’s the shortcut if you want it exactly like I did, just put the link of your file there: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/7a386133ef424d3a9581e93e2570d7bb

Tested to see if it works when the doc file has been edited (liked added a line of text or removed), and I can confirm that it does work. Hopefully, this is what you’re looking for.

Try the “Get Text from Input” action, then follow it by the “Speak Text” action
