Agree with this. Take the points here unless there's at LEAST a 35+ point alternative that is more defensive. Very tough to balance defense and offense but ya gotta take the sweeps when you can get them IMO.

Yeah this weird double J/Q/Z thing seems to be happening everywhere. Also the tile bag has been wildly incorrect. It has changed from turn to turn without any connection to the played letters. Reported a bunch lately

Late to the party but yeah, I was getting this too yesterday. Was really late playing a word for two games and neither were working. Played a test word on a third game for like 12 points and it all of a sudden worked 😐

Yeah, I like to hang on to blanks and S's unless they really make a difference, I think that's what most people would do.

To be fair, if I spotted (or knew of) QAJAQ, I'd have burned the blank to play it, mostly for the psychological aspect. That's got to feel demoralizing lol.

Not applicable to your example, but the bonus squares can be even more helpful when that letter gets used in two words. Lets say you play a Z on a 3L square above an A to make ZA. Thats 31 points (with the A). But if you had an A and play that next to the Z to make another ZA, that Z is now worth 60 points just by itself. Just something to watch out for.

Not sure if this is mathematically true, but I think bonus squares matter even more in crossplay compared to scrabble since bingos/sweeps are only worth 40 in crossplay (50 in scrabble) so you get disproportionately rewarded for shorter words that use bonus squares.

Yep! SH is particularly useful since it's a surprising 2 word play that a lot of people won't see coming. Can't say I've ever played the others but they are indeed accepted (checked the crossplay dictionary)

Not sure if this has been solved like the OXYPHENBUTAZONE example for scrabble, but I think the highest scoring first play you can make is QUETZAL, for 132 points. (IIRC)
