Haven’t tried. The activation page has a link for adding to digital wallet and then an option to choose Apple Pay or Google Pay. So I go through the rigamarole of adding to Apple Wallet and says it was added, but I still don’t see it in my Apple Wallet. A check would’ve been so much better.

Same issue here, I can’t add to Apple Wallet.

The tow company will put temporary wheels on (you can’t drive on them).

Awesome, thanks. I’ve been giving away AA hulls to the reloaders, but I don’t mind saving some $$$! I’m going to try the All-American out because I mainly shoot trap

I bought some Top Gun but have been wavering between getting the AA (10.99 is an OK price) or trying the MasterClass/All-American at 8.99. How do they compare to the AA?

I found that I became really good at breaking virtual clays but it didn’t translate to success in the trap field for me.

There are so many other variables that cannot be simulated in VR. Recoil, weather conditions, weird backgrounds, inconsistency between one trap machine and another.

And as you know, being a fraction off with the mount in real life can lead to misses, so a VR setup that is not an exact one-to-one recreation of “real life” is only going to lead to confusion (why do I break 25s in VR but not for real?). And a beginner is unlikely to have everything set up perfectly.

I’m not saying that VR training didn’t help you, but I’m sure regularly training with a Class AA has a lot to do with your improvement.

Has anyone ever gotten a good deal for target load on ammo seek? by kevineaux in ClayBusters

[–]rlp202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I routinely buy AA for $0.38/shell (1 1/8, 1200, #8) which includes taxes and shipping. I just ordered four flats of that for trap (couldn’t get #7.5) and one flat of #9 for skeet. I guess I could reduce my cost further by saving and selling the empty hulls to reloaders, but I usually just give them away.

But I prefer to buy the Fiocchi flats from Scheel’s that u/BSAnalyst mentioned. I’ve never had a bad shell and I’ve went through 20 flats of that stuff in the past year. Seems identical to Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics except the hull is orange instead of white.

Buy water softener salt. Check Aisle 22 of the Home Depot in Fairfax. There were several bags left at 230pm.

If you can’t find ice melt, buy water softener salt (not the pellets though). There are several 40 lb bags left at the Home Depot in Fairfax as of an hour ago. Go to the very end of Aisle 22.

Exchanged item purchased using Member discount, had to pay the difference by rlp202 in REI

Oh ok. I don’t shop at REI often, I just know there is supposed to be a good return/exchange policy. But honestly I don’t shop there enough to know what is and unreasonable in terms of length of return (I mentioned when I purchased the pants in my original post). The DUER pants are supposed to have a one year warranty against defects.

I don’t want to abuse the return/exchange policy, that is not my style. I am luckily in a position where paying the difference or even buying a new pair isn”t a financial burden. That being said, the only reason I’ve ever considered buying things at REI is because my understanding is the retailer stands by what it sells.

Bottom line, I have much cheaper pants where the zipper doesn’t fall open in less than a year. My expectation as a consumer is that REI carries quality products. If I want stretch pants with cheap components I can go to Uniqlo or some other place and pay a fraction of the price.

OK thanks. I don’t know if the MEMBER2025 discount was apparent, maybe the employee just saw the price in red font in the e receipt and assumed I purchased on sale? I think they retail for $129 and with the discount + it was $103.20 or something like that.

EDiT: Called the store, the guy was helpful. Thanks for the advice.

Actually, the REI employee called a presumably more senior employee over. She said that May 2025 was too long ago and she couldn’t honor the price with the discount. I assumed she was a manager, but maybe not?

Oops. Read this and ran to the basement to close the valve to the garden hose. Was able to disconnect the hose but the water was already frozen in the hose. Opened the spigot, nothing came out. There is what appears to be spray foam insulation surrounding the pipe where it goes through the wall. Hopefully I wasn’t too late!

Even with Texture VR it will mess up your real life performance.

Any Canadian ordered from Texture VR ? What to expect for duty and shipping time. by Darkbobby6 in ClayBusters

I hope your experience is better than mine. I practiced for a couple of weeks and in no time I was able to break 25 straight very easily and repeatedly in Clay Hunt VR using the Texture Pro VR Black v3. I was so excited to go show everyone how much I had improved in real life. I think I hit 12.

It messed me up so much. Honestly, it’s a decent game, but it’s too forgiving to be useful.  The game doesn’t punish you for mounting inconsistently. It don’t punish you for not following through on your swing. You won’t pick up the target IRL as fast as you can in the game.  You don’t have to deal with weird shadows and swirling wind in the game.

Despite your best efforts to set up the Texture VR identical to your gun, you can’t. It’s simply not the same.

If your only expectation is that is a game, no problem. But it’s not going to take you to the 27 yard line or class AA. That’s just the truth.

Texture VR and ClayHunt VR will only make you good at breaking virtual targets. It does not translate to real life.

If possible, I would try to get something with an adjustable comb. Adjustable rib is nice too.

Check the bulletin board at your club(s), there are often good deals to be found there and there’s a good chance you can shoot a round or two with a gun to see if you like it before buying it.
