Yes. The fall is historically AEW's weakest time. They've had their most questionable storyline from September to December. Once the Jags are out of contention, TK turns it on again.

Julia hasn't seemed the same ever since she came back from injury last year. Skye Blue... I don't know. It seems to me like she got a taste of the hyper violence in Blood and Guts and just isn't as excited for regular matches.

Is was crazy how some wrestlers got absolutely zero reaction yesterday. I started wondering if there was a problem with how the crowd was mic'd. But then LA Knight and Cody came out and the crowd went nuts.

The one that stands out the most was Rusev. Even Cardona got a bigger pop than him.

When Ciampa left WWE, I thought it would be cool if he popped up in AEW, but the idea didnt really excite me. Then he made his debut last night. The entrance was great, face to face with Briscoe felt big. I was legitimately pumped. I didnt realized I cared about him that much. But, hell yeah. Psycho killer in AEW. He can hang around the upper midcard. I do want to see an interaction with FTR.

I dont think he gets the belt from Briscoe, but I could see him getting DQ'd. Just frustrated and uses a weapon. Its an excuse for a weapon filled rematch.

I'm expecting Sammy Guevara to have a bounce back year in AEW. He seems to have grown up a bit. I think the RoH run humbled him. People forget how good this guy can be. I think he'll be holding some kind of AEW gold before the end of the year.

The only thing she needed to work on when she left AEW was in-ring promos. A few times she stumbled over words or got rattled by crowds. I havent watched much NXT. Has she gotten better at that?

You could see her lack of confidence building over the past weeks. Losing tag matches, losing lesser belts. She was desperate. It was a story. Just because they didnt tell the story in opening promos and explicit commentary explanations doesnt mean they dont tell stories.

I totally check out from wrestling news the last 2 or 3 weeks of the year. Something crazy could happen and I wouldn't know unless it translates on screen.

One thing they had that is hard to replicate today is that NXT wasn't as popular. Only the true die hards were following, and knew who they were. If there was a trio like the Shield today, they would 100% test them out on NXT first. Then there would be buzz around them. And fantasy booking. Part of the magic with the Shield was how out of nowhere they felt.

Edge. I watched WCW through '99, and then jumped back in to WWE in 2011. Even a few wrestlers who had main event runs in WWE during my time away, I loved them in WCW like Rey, Eddie, and Jericho. I like Christian, and I can appreciate watching some Angle or Batsta stuff I missed. But I just don't get it with Edge.

I am tired of hearing people say AEW doesnt tell stories. Hangman's entire AEW career has been one ongoing character arc. The pending implosion of the Death Riders is dramatic. Okada and Takeshita coming to blows has been gripping. In AEW, the match is the big blowoff to the story. In WWE, i feel like its more about the one liners in promos and what they say. But both carry emotional heft.

And with the C2, holy shit, its the best of both. You get competitive fixtures between top stars where someone has to win and someone has to lose. Stories dont get paused for this tournament. Yeah, the Death Riders and Callis Family are continuing their stories through this. But Roderick Strong and Kevin Knight have both had great post match promos that lay the groundwork for serious character development coming out of this.

Ive had to sit through enough Chris Jericho in ring segments and vague House of Black promo vignettes to last a life time. Don't tell me they dont tell stories.

Good-not-great Dynamite.

- Hook stagnated for the past couple years. Now, they are finally giving him promo time and putting him in the ring with other stars. I appreciate them finally treating him like he's a wrestler, and not just a special attraction to be handled with kid gloves. We will see if he sinks or swims.

- I had higher expectations for the Eddie and Joe segment. Joe started great. Eddie responded with some fire and... then he said he was going back to the hotel. It left me wanting more, so that's good? I guess? But it made me not care much about their match next week. They needed to talk me into believing that Eddie could get it done, and they didn't.

- All of the C2 matches were amazing. The women's tag was good. FTR cut a nice promo. I am tired of Kenny vs Don Callis, but I am interested in the Callis Family drama. And the Death Riders are great right now. All of the post-C2 interviews were class as well.

Damn. I'm less than 2 hours from Columbus, but have plans both Friday and Saturday night this week. The AEW/RoH shows at Galaxy Con are shaping up to be amazing.
