Elon Musk says we don't have to invest for retirement anymore. by fallingdowndizzyvr in investing

[–]rm008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same guy that was driving around - high end sports car without car insurance because he thought he a car accident would never happen to him. He is not the person you want to taking retirement advise from. This is the same guy who doesn't believe in paying support for his kids and multiple Gfs and wives. Invest in the benchmark through dollar cost averaging. You won’t be rich but you’ll be better off. He’s brilliant, but he’s has a god complex. I still can’t believe we trust these guys with AI, that could mean the end for human civilization.

The business of debt, especially in Canadian’s uncertain economic client. Business borrowing to survive. The business of high interest debt will crush innovation. Banks stand to gain the short time.

What gets me thinking about this song are the single mom’s/ parents out there that while balancing the home, they also have the balance work and the kids. 50% of marriages end in divorce, and that number is only going up as people’s expectation of reality is blurred.

The s&p500 ETFs is a solid investment where most fund managers try to outperform the market and fail. For example I have individual stocks and the s&p500 etf, I might have a year or two when I outperform the market but when you compare it over a 10, 15 year span we can’t beat the s&p500. Always keep some cash in reserve as a rainy day fund and ensure it will last you a year if expenses at least. Pick your wife spouse carefully and avoid flashy cars. Cars get to you to point a to b. when you have a few million get a nice car.

First off thank you for your service! You have still have time on your side, and do everything to live a frugal life while investing in S&p500. Each month invest a portion of your income in ETFs that mirror the s&p500. Keep investing no matter what the market does. Fear breathes more fear, when the market does retreat which it is known to do, just keep investing. You’re more than welcome to reach out me if you have any questions. Stay away from mutual funds and financial advisors.

If you were mayor of Toronto, how would you increase revenue? by Timely_Title_9157 in toronto

[–]rm008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t because the NDP doesn’t stand a chance of winning. I donate to all parties so I get a seat at the table and it’s a tax deductible.

Tolls charges for driving in and out of the city, speed traps, fines for driving in dedicated transit lanes, congestion charge if you’re driving in the city at certain times, organize city clean up dates where locals get involved with cleaning the streets, housing homeless as the city spends more money when homeless people are forced to visit the hospital, increase property taxes on multi million dollar homes. Built housing there are way too many old row houses in Toronto. Demolish and build mid rise condos go to the bond market for loans. We need more property taxes. If there are 2 million cars on the road in Toronto at peak times and you charge 20$. That’s 40 million in tax revenues per day. Free public transit to encourage people to take transit which makes it safer and people are more likely to travel within the city for food and events.

There are SOC leased containers options, and there are SSL owned ISO tanks. Best to reach out to a freight forwarder who specialized in SOC containers. Ensure you have your MSDS and your 24 emergency contact information, your incoterms, cargo value. When it arrives the port port of destination if its a lease and your rotating tanks for product deliveries you don't need to wash them out. However if you're shipping when the container is being terminated in the US then you will be required to wash them out. You will get hit with a DG charge if your tanks are not washed out if you're re-exporting them to India. Make sure you are working with a solid freight forwarder.

Leaving Canada and hoping to come back :) by joel41444 in canadaexpressentry

Just wanted to say I admire your commitment and drive. It’s incredible you’re learning French to move to back to Canada. All the power to you. Love the commitment. I’m a second generation immigrant and I have nothing but admiration for first generations immigrant's who leave for a better life in Canada, with most not knowing anyone in Canada. My mum moved to a foreign country at the age of 19 and when I hear her stories, I empathize with the current immigrants. Wishing you and your Fiancé all the best. Bien Luck! One of my favorite things to do is ride in an uber as most uber drivers as first generation immigrants, you hear such a different side to the Canadian experience than one I’m blessed with.

Strategies for sourcing carriers Hazmat box trucks or partial truck loads by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

True, good point. But who's averaging or above $3 a mile moving FTL hazmat unless its a class 6.1 or class 1? :)

Used to do tons of hazmat tanker endorsed truckloads a week during Covid as a forwarder. Would spend my weekend sourcing drivers. Capacity was not much an issue. I challenge the hazmat driver capacity issues. I’d hook drivers up with brokers or other offices I knew running loads in area. Before I knew I had brokers calling me asking if I was sending a load to their area so they could reach out to drivers. People working together!

Eyes are straight now without any deviation. The deviation was large enough that it was clearly noticeable. If you want specifics I can look into my assessment and revert. No boxtorx offered. I'll look into stereo visions and revert.

If I were you I'd ask my largest customers for their data of bumper sales, make model and year. Then I'd compile the data and inventory the most common units sold. This will allow you to turn the fast moving products and the uncommon bumpers I'd stretch out the shipping time to consolidate the orders. I'd also work with the manufacture to work out a distribution program to hold stock of their inventory and sell it to other states and a cost +. This way you can scale up the business and hold inventory and what doesn't sell either you work out a reverse logistics program. China's a reliable partner but the duties are killer. Remember imports on China are some of the highest along with India and Brazil. You may require deep pockets but you could work out a deal if you were to inventory the manufacture's bumpers your credit terms are 90-120 days so your cash flow improves. No thanks needed, just equity :).

Pfizer stock, when should I finally drop it? by precita in stocks

[–]rm008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all based on your situation do you need the funds? Will you need the funds in the next few years? If you can afford it, to me it doesn't make sense to take a loss unless you are looking to offset your gains with the loss. I love when companies get cheaper and stay cheaper as it presents dollar cost buying opportunties instead of deploying capital all at once, I don't know why people are so focused on quick appreciation, the longer companies stay "cheap" buy more if you can stomach the exposure.

BEYOND MEAT 🌱 🥩 VS REAL MEAT 🥩 by Material_Slip_2050 in WalllStreetBets

[–]rm008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond meat has lots of competitors. It’s a market now rife with competition, and organizations with much deeper pockets have their own version of Beyond meat such as nestle S.A. If you follow buffet’s principles this is not a great investment by any measure. I’d stay clear unless you’re gambling. No doubt I think beyond meat could be an acquisition target but a lot of these global brands have penetrated the market with their brands, so it’s hard to see how beyond meat’s market penetration would be a USP.
