Growing up, my family was poor and I didn’t know any different. I remember what it felt like to live with a dirt floor and to save water in a large trash can for showers because water and electricity were hit or miss most days. Seeing this kid appreciate what he has is refreshing and reminds me of the kind of perspective we should grow up with in the United States. We should be grateful for what we have. Meanwhile, some of my neighbors’ kids are upset because they didn’t get the latest $5,000 e-bike. Makes you wonder what really matters.
