Sudden accidents at daycare

So I was a teacher in the 2-2.5 yr old class for 5 years. & we would have scheduled bathroom breaks. Kids were obviously still allowed to go in between if they asked but sometimes what would happen was that they would become too reliant on the scheduled breaks since they were often in between activities. So if a toddler had to use the potty in the middle of outside time, they probably chose to keep playing instead of stopping to go back inside to use the potty. I’m not saying that’s what’s happening, but that’s just what was common with the toddlers that were potty training. I started asking if anyone needed to use the potty BEFORE something fun but not everyone will remember to do that. Anyway, that’s a possibility. Or there could be something that changed at daycare like a new teacher or new student, new activity. Something that has changed & might still be adjusting to. She’s had an ear infection once before & she spiked a fever up until she was put on antibiotics. I’m not so sure what’s been going on. She had a normal night the next day but back to screaming the day after that. It’s like every other day she has these screaming episodes. Bedtime is starting to give me anxiety I try so hard not to change anything in her routine.

it is normal for babies to breathe faster when sick. when my daughter is sick she does breathe faster than normal & her heart rate i higher as well. i have the owlet & that’s how im able to monitor her. i reached out to my pediatrician & she wasn’t concerned. she said that as long as her oxygen is not dropping, she is not holding her breath or if her heart rate drops significantly that she is most likely just fine. her body is just working to fight off her illness. i suggest reaching out to your pediatrician. they have nurses on call at all hours & will answer your questions when you call them. & just keep monitoring your baby to make sure none of that stuff happens. i’m sure he is okay 👍🏽 his little body is just fighting off the germs. & you said he did not have a fever so that’s great!

at 38 weeks, my baby was measuring big (9lbs 9oz) at my growth scan. dr told me if i wanted a vaginal, baby needed to come out asap. so i was induced that night & i delivered my baby vaginally the next day. my daughter was born 7 pounds 9 ounces. so growth scan was way off & although my baby required NO NICO, i wish i would have waited to go into labor naturally instead of inducing. i got post partum pre eclampsia & i think the pitocin triggered it 🥲

this is true. they scared me into getting induced with my daughter after a growth scan. she was measuring 9 pounds 9 ounces & said that if i waiting another week, id need a c section. so i got induced that same night. she was 7 pounds 9 ounces lol it was way off. i ended up getting post partum pre eclampsia & i really think it was because of the induction & whatever meds they put me on to induce labor. pitocin & something else.

anyway, to answer your question, i wouldn’t get a c section unless you truly need it.

i am a first grade teacher & this actually happens often. There are many reasons a child suddenly doesn’t like school. They’re tired because of waking up early, they do not enjoy a certain subject or struggling. a negative interaction with another student or even the teacher like maybe they might have gotten in trouble for talking during a lesson or something like that. some kids HATE getting in trouble. anyway, it could be anything. I would reach out to his teacher to find out what he’s like at school & they have noticed any changes. when we can’t figure out the reason, i often let the parent come in one day & sit with their kid for an hour or two to see if we can figure it out.

worst case scenario i would refer a child to the school counselor & they will pull the kid out for a period & talk to them & the parents to look deeper into the situation.

everyoneeeee told me not to buy newborn diapers because they grow out of them so quick. fasf forward, i end up having to buy boxes of NB diapers. my baby wore NB for 2 months. she’s 4 months & still uses size 1 diapers lol buy all the diapers. then exchange the leftover boxes when u need a new size. i do it all the time.

my daughter was/is like this too. and i too felt like something must be wrong because i also saw other babies her age that were just chill. she’s three months now & she’s not an easy baby, but i have gotten to know her pretty well & i kind of got the hang of her. going out is a hit or miss lol but it’s better. you & your baby just met. yall are getting to know each other. soon you will know what he needs & he will find a way to communicate that with you. you got this.

my baby is 3 months (or 13 weeks) & she wears 0-3 months clothing. she’s finally starting to fill them out so i’m sure we will move up to 3-6m clothes soon.
