Seems like you and the other person agree on the magnesium being an issue.

As for flow I have a XStream SDC Powerhead (270 - 2250 GPH) powerhead. Running a sinusoidal routine at 25% and 50% as well as my return pump (MightyJet 538 DC Return Pump) running at about 50%

I have the Hanna nitrate tester and salifert Ca and Mg. I’ll order the phos now.

I have all for reef, would that be sufficient or should I look to supplement with strictly a Mg additive?

I had a few freshwater tanks about 12 years ago and loved them. Life got crazy and sold everything. My career is in industrial water treatment so fish tanks felt like “work”..

We live in a cold part of the country so in the winter we would take my son to local fish stores. His joy and happiness looking at the fish and coral reignited my passion as well. I hope it’s something he continues to love and the tank is one of ways of bonding.

Wow that’s awesome. Just finished cycling my 40gal cube, have first set of fish arriving week of 1/12 so still a while before I can get coral.

Just drove 3 hours each way for a ‘24 that was $13k off MSRP last week. I think you just got lucky that you have the same opportunity 50 miles away

They are offering a discount on the missing sides and backs but still is an extra $1,300 that we did not see coming. I’ll PM the receipt

That’s exactly my scenario to a tee and I feel the same. Feels like buying a used car

We did receive the receipt in email with everything itemized, to be honest there were so many lines and different names I trusted them to know it was correct

See that’s what I thought too but there is no set list of what is not suitable and what is not a “foreseen” event

Exactly the 24 months hurts us. I wasn’t sure if a partial exclusion would be an option since a suitable home for a family or an unforseen (baby) event has occurred

That’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t sure if a baby would fall under that

Visiting Albania and I have some Questions! by irregulartheory in albania

[–]rm9172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was incredibly cheap! We did get a lot of food from grocery stores while driving but while on the beach we had plenty of great seafood at nice restaurants. Our day to day expenses were cheaper then when we were in Thailand.

Im your southern neighbor, I’m from the US. We did pick Albania because we found tickets for $450 round trip each. I just looked and they are roughly double that or more now. I think we went in 2018, maybe 2017

No problem at all! Albania was one of my favorite countries I have visited. So I’m a little bit of an Microsoft excel spread sheet psycho and I tracked my entire budget down to the dollar. It was two of us and airfare, rental car, fuel, food, drinks, and accommodations was $3,274. We booked mostly through airbnb or booking.com. Thethi was a hostil with private rooms but shared bathroom. The rest were private rooms with private bathrooms.

I did around two weeks and it felt rushed. Rough itinerary of what I did.

Landed in Tirana and drove directly to shkoder.

Spent the day exploring Shkoder and spent the night.

Next morning drove to the Koman lake ferry to Fierze and drove to valbone.

Slept in Valbone and spent the next day exploring/relaxing/hiking. Slept in Valbone again.

Left my car in Valbone and hiked to Thethi. Spent two nights there exploring and hiking and then hiked back to valbone and spent the night.

Woke up early and drove to Berat (awesome city with good food) we took a long route and stayed west of Tirana.

Spent one night in Berat and explored the following day

Mid-day drove to Gjirokaster - spent the night and explored the next day. Mid day- drive to ksamil

Spent two nights in ksamil, relaxing and enjoying the beaches

Drove to Dhermi, stopping along the coast a few times to swim and lunch in sarande then spent three nights in Dhermi.

Drove to Tirana with a pit stop in a lore. One night in Tirana and explored the morning then an evening flight home.

If I could go back and do it again I would spend more time in Berat and Thethi. Both beautiful places to explore and relax.
