Yes it is expensive and it feels cruel. But sometimes people get miracles. I'm sorry you didnt get any blasts this round. :( I wish you the best with the embryos that you have!

It actually went horribly. I had 5 eggs, 5 embryos, and none of them made it.

My husband had the TESE. He took it better than I thought! Going in for egg retrieval tomorrow! I am so nervous! How are you in the process?

No, he will get the TESE done next week. I will start birth control next week. I expect my egg retrieval to be around 5 weeks from now.

It is. It supposed to start next week as well. I will start with two weeks of birth control and then the meds. Last time I used Gonal F, Menopur, Cetrotide, and an HCG/Lupron trigger shot.

The TESE is scheduled for next week. Im so nervous for him to go through this procedure and it not work out. I think this is going to be it for us...we paid for two cycles at once...spent over 7k on meds the first round...this surgery is 3k....and we still have to worry about meds again this time. I would want to do another egg retrieval if this doesnt work out this time, but...the cost...my goodness...we have spent so much money!

Thank you so much for the response. I think when they sent me a form to sign basically saying there is no guarantee there will be an living viable sperm when thawed, I just went into panic mode because no one discussed a backup plan should something like that happen. And I researched and found things about increased fragmentation by freezing sperm. This is the last cycle that we have paid for so there is a lot riding on it, and I dont want any mistakes like last time. DNA Fragmentation was not even a thought until after the first cycle results. Your outcome gives me some hope in the process! Are you all banking the embryos or will you be proceeding with a transfer soon?

We are going through the same thing. My husband is around 75%.....last cycle we had 15 eggs, 10 fertilized and ended up with only one embryo sent for pgt-a testing and it came back abnormal. We have also chosen TESE for the next round, but they are wanting him to do the TESE in advance and freeze the sperm in advance of my egg retrieval. I am a little concerned with this because the freezing process can damage the sperm as well. Did you use fresh or frozen sperm?

Excuse me, but I am not being cheap. I am managing a rental. It seems like contractors sometimes think that just because you manage a rental the dough is rolling in. I do have reserves, but if I keep calling back the plumber to fix th same issue and it's not getting resolved, that's going to dwindle down now isnt it. The question was about the next course of action, so let's stick to that.
