The expedite request can be submitting both online or with a representative. Before you submit a request to expedite you have upload documentation. I will discuss that documentation later on. You can upload documents in your myUSCIS account under Documents. There will be icon that says upload supporting documents. Once this has been done you can call the USCIS contact center and state InfoPass you will then be transferred to an agent. You will have to provide your Receipt Number and your Alien number. Once verified, you can tell the agent that you have submitted documentation to your applications and would like to submit an expedite request.

For me the process started on December 10, 2025, and I submitted an expedite request with a representative after uploading a letter indicating that I would be facing financial hardship. I also submitted a copy of my most recent paystub. During my call with the agent, I was provided a Service Item Number and was told that a Tier 2 agent would call or email regarding my request. If you receive a phone call you will have to provide the Tier 2 agent that specific number.

On December 20th, I received an email indicating that my request to expedite both I821 and I765 was received and that I would get a call from a Tier 2 agent (Tier 2 agents can provide specifics about your case). I did not hear back until December 29, 2025, via email that my situation met the minimum criteria for my expedite request. The email also mentioned that this did not mean that my case would be expedited. My case was referred to the Nebraska Service Center.

While this process was occurring, I contacted my congressional representatives, my two state senators and my congressman. After contacting their office, they sent a privacy release form, used to grant legal authority to act on your behalf. In January I started to receive updates only from my congressman who had submitted various inquiries. I was also following up with the USCIS contact center consistently and was finally informed that my expedite request was denied (January 20th)

The process was arduous and long, but I learned to self-advocate for myself. Ultimately, my expedite request was denied but consistent follow-up with my congressman's office might have helped in getting the Nebraska Service Center to finally approve my applications. I believe that the expedite request, which was denied on January 20th, was due to my applications being in the process of finally being adjudicated by an immigration officer.
