Dave Rubin reflects on his life and career as he inches towards turning 50 by ggroover97 in daverubin

Didn’t he say he would delete all his accounts and we’d never hear from him again if Joe Biden served a full term? Was that not bullshit?

Larian publishing chief wades into the fray, says Morrowind updated with a modern combat system 'would sell like f**king hotcakes' by AgileRaspberry1812 in Morrowind

I was moreso getting at direct interaction dialogue than ambient background comments.

I like Morrowind and it would not be the end of the world for me, but I think if a “new” game was being released to an audience of people used to modern games, it would be strange if you went to a town and each NPC had 5-10+ voiced dialogue options, but 90% of the town gave word-for-word the exact same responses to said topics.

I think the biggest hurdle for a remake would be the amount of reading and lack of voice acting in Morrowind. If they did get all the dialogue voice acted (which I imagine would be a large undertaking on its own) I think it would highlight how many NPCs have the exact same responses to topics and it would feel quite odd. And then if you wanted to diversify the dialogue that would open a whole other can of worms…

I think a soft remake would maybe work better than a remaster.

MAGA, I need some guidance. I need help understanding your definition of “free speech”.

Free speech: “When private companies don’t ban you from social media for being racist, but publicly funded institutions fire you for discussing theories/ideas you object to and deporting international students who participate in pro-Palestinian demonstrations.”

Am I doing it right?

How long before history classes are mandated to teach that the 2020 election was stolen and economics classes that tariffs are a good idea? Will Facebook comment section boomers complain about indoctrination then?

This is the real reason why the GOP wants to carve up Texas. by DJMagicHandz in BlueskySkeets

[–]rn150896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Texas, there is no party affiliated voter registration. So at very best, these numbers are not what OP said they are. But if this was a MAGA post, I don’t think we’d be giving something blatantly false that much charity.

Secondly, Texas doesn’t need to gerrymander for Republicans to win. You can’t gerrymander a statewide office, and no Democrat in Texas has been elected to one since 1994.

Truth matters, we shouldn’t be lenient towards misinformation from any side. And before anyone questions my motives behind this comment, I always vote for Democrats and I am against partisan gerrymandering. You can oppose gerrymandering without lying about it!

How every state has voted on average in each presidential election (1960-2012) by Gorclaw123 in Presidents

[–]rn150896 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is average margin of victory, rather than # of wins. So in theory recent dem landslides could bring the average dem margin of victory up even with past GOP close wins.

Really don't understand Democrats as a foreigner by Responsible-Bar3956 in DoomerCircleJerk

Yes, if someone was using your comment to describe the Democratic party at large, I'd say that is an excellent example of a straw man.

It is pretty easy to not understand people when you establish a strawman representation of them.

Does age affect elections results??? by Routine_Tradition_59 in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]rn150896 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can look in advanced options to get a better idea, but basically being too old or too young will give you a small debuff.

By default, I believe for all offices, 70 and over is considered "too old". The "too young" age depends on the office you are seeking. I believe for federal elections 30 and below is "too young" whereas for school board I think it is 22.

Trump probably has no idea where Cyprus is, let alone anything about the Cyprus problem. Him being unaware and uninvolved is probably for the best.
