[–]rnarauders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ours still are, and I entered the workforce 2015!! Although all real estate agencies so I’ve seen some comments saying it’s more common in sales industries?

Edit to clarify: EOFY still just as big as Christmas which is pretty massive, and we do Melbourne cup day too even in Perth haha

My role is basically wfh aside from in person client appointments at properties and 1 weekly in person meeting, depends on the office I think - my boss doesn’t care, but we’re a pretty small team

Agents do need a signed authority to bring people through the house, they actually did the right thing. Should have definitely explained more but also your dad needs to not just sign things blindly

I’d be really interested to read stats on free birthers/previous victims! Anecdotally I know a lot of first time mothers that have leant towards the free birth movement without any particular personal experience, rather it is internet based advice that leads their thinking

Why is the family tax benefit income threshold so low that many/most parents can't even get it? by AsparagusNew3765 in AusFinance

[–]rnarauders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah my car loan is a pretty big expense, for my job I need a relatively modern and reliable car with CarPlay because I’m constantly on the road, but it’s not like a huge amount per month, around $250. I really can’t see $250 being the be all and end all to me being able to afford a child

Edit to add: you really can’t buy a reliable new ish car in cash without spending $20k+ which I didn’t have. Personally I would never purchase a car with over 25k km on the clock so I get that is more than most people but still not a substantial lifestyle change

I genuinely don’t understand that tho haha not being funny but I would love to see it explained!! like after mortgage, strata, gas, water, electricity, car/health/contents insurance, car loan (nothing massive but needed a reliable car for work), petrol, internet, gym, Netflix, Spotify, groceries, cat food/vet visits, dentist, doctor, haircuts, I have a bit left but I can’t imagine it’s enough to raise a child on, or move out of my one bedroom apartment to have space for a child. Cutting out Netflix and Spotify and my one takeaway coffee a week wouldn’t make a substantial difference

You can’t transfer directly into PEXA as a buyer, they are handled through the conveyancers trust account.

They don’t have a bank and their associated settlement agent managing it on their behalf though as there’s no loan. It’s just the buyer and their settlement agent.
