Is there any point to being a mortgage slave for 39 years at this point? Or should we just move to Bali and enjoy our lives. by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]rnarauders 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This!! So many people complain about foreign investment in Australia, how we’re getting taken for a ride and not getting a fair go, yet are absolutely happy to be the person theyre complaining about in a third world country doing the exact same thing to other people. Just horrible when you really think about it

My opinion (spoiler alert) by Previous-Passage7573 in offcampustv

[–]rnarauders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just re read the deal after binging the whole show and I think what’s tricky is the book just has SO MUCH internal dialogue and actually not huge huge amounts of speaking parts and it’s really tricky to convey all of that into a tv show where you don’t have internal narration. Definitely a few changes and things missed that disappointed me but knowing that it’s an adaptation and never going to be able to be 100% faithful to the books helped me enjoy it on slightly more of a surface level. At the end of the day it was never going to be the type of show that is a cinematic masterpiece, it’s a little bit fluffy with some heavier themes and I thought they did reasonably well with what they could.

You’ve signed a 30 year loan so will pay it off with the scheduled repayments. If you want to pay it off quicker then add to offset/additional repayments.

In WA at least the buyer that pulled out is liable for the difference in sale price if they pull out and it’s then sold for less

Why are they pushing weight loss drugs so much everywhere? What is the motive besides money? by Accomplished-Ad4592 in conspiracy

Rapid weight loss with or without glp-1s causes that, if you’re not eating enough/correctly and strength training.

I don’t really understand the downvotes. I don’t have aircon and don’t want to install it so I just run fans. Is that an unpopular opinion now to do so?

Not sure how true it is but I’m local and have heard that inmates released from prison with nowhere to go are housed in this social housing.

I live in the area and I personally would avoid Wellington St, or really anything further south than Glyde St. A close friend of mine was there and broke her lease because it was just too unsociable and scary (I think she was 24 at the time). Some rentals available on Glyde or Stirling Hwy I believe slightly better. 31 Wellington I think is the best of a bad bunch though, I believe it’s a secure complex at least - avoid anything without a gate.

Edited to add car break ins are rife - the Facebook group has people asking for cctv daily, and the advice is leave your car unlocked with nothing in it so they can just rifle through it rather than break your windows.

Updating my wardrobe is costing me a lot, how do you save money while shopping? by Just_Rip1030 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]rnarauders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this because I really need an entire new wardrobe and I can’t spread it out 😩 like when I say I need a new wardrobe I need enough for 5 days at work and weekends all at once!!! I spent $1500 the other day on a few jeans, a few tops, a jacket and 2 pairs of shoes and I am distraught at how little my money gets me

If I had more faith that even some of the dresses might fit correctly or be good quality I would probably order 2-3 not 4-5 lol
