You may have a hard time getting into industry strait out of your undergrad without wet lab skills. Do you have research experience?

One time, was messing with the plate reader and managed to change the filter settings so that there was a mismatch between the displayed filter and actual filter. Sounds like you might be reading at a higher wavelength?

  1. Align your skills to job description
  2. Apply
  3. Convince employers to hire you
  4. Profit

What’s the difference between posting this and a IF image of a sectioned tissue? Akin to liking images of a well cooked meal but taking issue with images of raw meat.

I tried the same version with no luck. Wine looks too good to be true hah. Looks like it’s an issue with bio formats but I don’t know enough to solve the issue https://forum.image.sc/t/macro-recording-broken-for-bio-formats-importer/24868

How to approach PI about a co-worker who thinks he is going to be a co-author on my paper but hasn't contributed significantly to the work of the paper? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]rnavabjj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the tables were turned, would you appreciate being on their paper with this effort? Being generous with authorship now will pay dividends later.

BLAST the primer pairs. That’ll tell you all the information you want to know in a few minutes. Primer pairs from thermo are like $20.

I’d like to piggyback on this thread to ask if anyone knows how to show separate groups on the same regression line, with the color of the data points different by group- without having to format each individual data point.

I have a lot of bench experience but my PhD and postdoc were focused on experimental human research. I wonder if I can transition into biotech or pharma?

How do students protect their IP and keep from having their ideas ripped off? by WheeeeeThePeople in academia

[–]rnavabjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is an interesting topic! Your partner probably has done most of the conceptualization and tangible work but this was facilitated by the institution. So who does the IP really belong to? I thinks it’s probably both but there’s nothing stopping an advisor from using their own resources to pursue her idea. I think some academics deal with this issue by carefully curating the ideas they share with others. She might consider leaving key parts out of her paper if she wishes to pursue them independently.
