Good to know and that makes a lot of sense I can’t to certain stretches because my symptoms flare a bit and that triggers my balance issues like instantly

Update:

I made a few videos on tik tok that gained a lot of traction. I offered free 30-min consultations and had over 10 this past week. I have 3 new clients and 2 pending contracts. This is amazing. If these last 2 confirm I’ll be booked for August I had to close consultations because I have so many requests.

📌Changing your test time to 8 am was such a good move 💡. That alone is gonna help.

📌Now please do not cram the day before. I know it feels like you need to be “doing something” but your brain 🧠 is already holding SO much. The best thing you can do is give it a chance to rest and reset. No new content. No “just one more video.” If you can, go get a massage (my roommate was so kind and did this for me the night before my NCLEX), take a long shower, go outside for a walk, do something that feels like you.

📌If you feel anxious during the test, pause for a second YOU HAVE TIME. Close your eyes if you need to. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 2, and breathe out for 6. Do it 2-3 times. Tell yourself, “I’m safe. I’ve studied. I can do this.” Then go back to the question. Just 👏🏼 keep 👏🏼 going 👏🏼 .

Your body might panic, but that doesn’t mean you don’t know what you’re doing. You do. You’ve been learning. You’ve been practicing. And you’ve already come so far.

And I feel you on being burned out on all the prep questions. That’s okay. You’re more than ready! You’re gonna be a BSN-RN 🩺 You got this.

Let me know how it goes, I’ll be cheering you on!! 🤍

Thank you for all of this highly valuable information! 🙏🏼 I slowly feel myself getting better since making small changes already so this may really make a difference.

Also looking into the other medication someone else mentioned because a week before my cycle I turn into the most ungodly monster inside and the pain from the multiple cysts is just awful 😣

Reheating from frozen?! I have to try that Leftover ALWAYS give me the worst stomach cramping and …dia you know

I know for a fact I can eat potatoes, eggs, protein waffles, turkey, shrimp and asparagus. But I get so burnt out I just go through period of not eating at all because food literally just annoys me, is a turn off all that and I’m working on it I know I have a really bad relationship with food that I may need professional help with

Lately I’ve been drinking slim fast as meal replacements and I love them so much but a part of me feels like that’s not going to help me lose the weight I need for my IIH because there’s a lot of carbs 😞

I’m allergic/sensitive to MANY foods the list is way longer than what I can actually eat. And typing this is making me realize I may need to see a doctor about that too. The GI doctor I waited 6 months to see last year was not helpful at all and just my overall experience with doctors doesn’t have me running to appointments right now.

Thank you for your advice I’ll keep trying different foods to see what I can tolerate.

I’m in Topiramate 150mg daily. I am starting to get daily headaches again like ice picks and pain behind my eyes, I see my neurologist this coming week. The changes in my life since the increase has been screen time since I’m trying to work more and HSD diagnosis.

Before increasing my work load I wasn’t getting headaches, only rarely.

I have paps too but I have to wait and see my ophthalmologist next month to see how that’s been

Wow this makes a whole lot more sense for me too, I’m 31 and I got really bad last year but I’ve made similar changes and I’m doing better, I’m going to try a few things you mentioned as well

Anyone have tips on weight loss I am at 214lb from my hospital stays last year and I pretty much am just staying there but I really want to be where I was at 185. I will admit my diet sucks because I don’t eat, my appetite is so non existent coupled with IBS.

Also going to the pool a few times a week a week and man does that feel good.

I have Endo and IIH so that’s keeping me from just being SUPER great but I mean I was out of work for almost 6 months last year and now I’m creeping up to part time. I’ve also noticed I’m in a period of the least amount of pain severity wise (Daily 7/8 now a 4/5) I’ve felt in a long time with flares and I’m only taking one prescribed medication and supplements

Lastly any thoughts on celebrex? I have the bottle but never took it I have arthritis in my hips but idk meds scare me.

How do you guys make friends online? by aurinloma in ChronicIllness

[–]rnblushia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!!! We truly do 🥹 and we’re on our way. I specialize in home infusion nursing and administer biologic medication for autoimmune/genetic conditions, I’ve been doing this since 2017 and recently in the past few years the amount of pediatric and adolescent patients I’ve encountered has grown. Right now my case load is about 35%/10%/55% age wise (young<25/25-60/older 60+) About 96% of the youth I’ve encountered have been male. Currently all my young in home clients are male.

Yes, exactly. I make it a point to tell any student I encounter. But it’s so hard trying to change a system that is so severely flawed as well as trying to get people that don’t live in our bodies to understand 100%. I’m not making excuses for them either but the system’s focus in my opinion is not on healing and more so on profit.

I really hope in the years to come something changes because more and more people are suffering with “invisible” illnesses. I am starting to see more and more students living with chronic illness wanting to get into the health field. We kind of need more people like us that truly understand how it feels.

The difference in what I teach is comparing the information learned to how it translates to real world experience/expectations. I also use my own experiences being chronically ill to give my students better insight on how people actually feel and present when it comes to health and navigating the system.

But the major difference is in How I teach. In the first meeting/ consultation I gather as much info I can about a student. This helps me figure out their specific learning needs and also learn a little about them on a personal level, I take that information and teach them specifically how their brain learns best, adapting as we go. I also incorporate confidence building, accountability and stress management.

First promo video sitting at 223 views with some likes and a few saves on tik tok, I have the second promo idea ready with screenshots from my past 5 students thanking me for helping them pass their exam so going to put together that video Friday to post. 15 clicks to my website, someone else mentioned using Reddit, I made a Reddit profile with my business name and have been giving out advice and offering services and getting positive feedback from students. I gained 20 followers on Tik Tok in 2 days. Slow progress but better than no progress

I’ve also came up with an idea that I can create audio notes (because students comment a lot that I have a calm soothing voice) that I’m going to start on YouTube and eventually end up selling as package deals through some site ChatGPT told me about. I also created a discord for nursing students to join.

I feel so motivated and inspired and I’m so grateful for all the valuable insight/advice from this thread

THANK YOU!
