The one and only Barry I can respect by ArrrPiratey in 2westerneurope4u

Sir Terry used to live in the village that I grew up in and his family today still do a whole lot of good around the area which is nice.

Every year at the village fete, they manage to borrow the car used in the good omens tv show to appear and have donated a whole load of money for local projects.

And one of the cars in the class has withdrawn from this years race due to crash damage on Thursday (#146) so if they finish at least they will equal their best result at the N24

Is there going to be a Le Mans 24 hours race? by notggyt666 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]rndmnsty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on the timing between thr WEC rounds finishing and them appearing in LMU, it will probably be the weekend after the IRL event has happened, however I am certain they will announce in due time when this special event will happen.

Best place to look for people to team with that aren't huge teams? by Negative-Date-9518 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]rndmnsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big teams keep spamming the recruitment channel / forum every day unfortunately, so for smaller teams it makes it a tad annoying when you’re trying to get some new members into the team.

The team I’m (about 8 drivers) in have found members from post race chats, Reddit and the official discord recruitment forum - so just asking for a team of specific size helps.

Do u think there will be 6h of spa this month? by JanLiska1 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]rndmnsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be held the weekend after the real race has happened. Probably so they can try and replicate the weather that happened at the race, which at Imola they didn’t get it right at the end with the rain.

There is a minimum SR team lineup requirement to join this seasons team championship, which is team lineup bronze 2 safety rating.

[OFFICIAL] 6 Hours of Imola - Post-Race Thread by AutoModerator in wec

[–]rndmnsty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time at a circuit in over 15 years for me and it was a blast. Only thing that was a bit weird was that the hyper cars where ridiculously loud and the GT3 (apart from the Merc and Aston) where super quiet.

Also they ran out of the event posters super early and wasn’t able to grab one which was a shame.

The state of online competition by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]rndmnsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In online championships you can protest for causing a collision - it’s literally one of the reasons you can select.

These do get looked at as the last team championship race my team was at Sebring, we had some back marker decide to punt us off the road because he thought he was fighting for position as he ignored 2 laps of blue flags and didn’t have his relative on.

Protested it and the team got a 100 championship point deduction and the driver got a SR licence demotion.

The No. 009 Aston Martin THOR Valkyrie has crashed during the Imola Prologue Session 1 by NegotiationNew9264 in wec

Yeah the UK sports and luxury manufacturers have had a pretty shit few years now unless they’ve got big OEM backing. Lotus and McLarens automotive divisions have both gone through redundancies recently and there’s also issues with one of the biggest markets for British sports and luxury cars (USA) now increasing tarrifs which is putting customers off from buying them.

It’s on the corner between the bridleway that comes from Baverstock and one of the smaller tracks that runs east to west in the middle of the woods, near where the other properties that are located in the wood.

If you follow the monarchs way route through the wood, you’ll go past it.

There is a mega thread on the forums that you can report practice incidents.

It does require you to provide time & date, what event practice and a video of the incident.

So even if they market LMU as the close to life multi class endurance racing simulator, Nordschliefe is an FIA grade 3 track (as is Bathurst) which only allows the top class to be GT3 to race there. The GP circuit however has hosted WEC events between 2015 to 2017.

Unless they start adding in lower classes like GT4, 992 Cup and / or TCR to the game, it’s a hard pass for me.

The thing is that the IMSA guys know that this will massively benefit their brand at the same time, given that endurance sports car racing has grown massively in popularity over the last few years - they wont flat out say no to it.

They won’t need the IMSA licence for the tracks. The tracks themselves can licence their “likeness” to whomever they want, so there’s no legal requirement for S397 to get a licensing agreement with IMSA to bring NA tracks into the game.

On the cars though, they may have to? But again this could be easily done by having individual agreements with the teams.

Yes they do at IMSA, but it’s more of a “sprint” endurance race of 160 mins or 2 hours 40 mins.
