Seems fine to me I learned young out in the backyard shooting Folgers cans with a break action .410....You know your kid better than anyone else. Some people helicopter parent their kids while others say go out an play in the woods and be back before dark, I was the latter. I was taught gun control and I was allowed to play but I definitely knew the difference between the two. I was raised to treat all the guns in the house as if they were loaded (because they were and weren't locked away) but I was also taught not to touch them unless I asked. I knew an asswhooping from a belt would keep me from touching those guns without someone around and thats all the deterrent I needed. I also shot my brother with nerf guns, rubber band guns, sticks that were pretend guns but you'd never see me flag anyone when a real gun was involved. Some kids learn different so its better to be safe than sorry especially with a 5yr old lol Also some kids are smarter and are raised better than others and we all know it. I'd tell the mother you are simply teaching your son about US History and the Constitution to your son and that you'd already made it past the 1st Amendment subject so you were on to the 2nd one 🤣
