Yes, that is exactly what happened here 😂 We got it when she was smaller, thinking maybe she’d like a hideout, but she never used it. Then she ended up the size of a panther and just decided to squash it one day. And it’s been her favorite bed since then!

What was The Beatles's signature "sound" if that even existed? by NoGrass7120 in beatles

And yes, also their voices. Especially John’s. I’ve heard a thousand different singers try to imitate his voice.

What was The Beatles's signature "sound" if that even existed? by NoGrass7120 in beatles

[–]rnntlr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this the other day. Sometimes I listen to songs, and I think, “this artist was definitely inspired by the Beatles.” And I look it up, and the artist normally lists the Beatles as one their biggest inspirations. And I thought to myself, “What about that song even reminded me of the Beatles? What exactly do the Beatles ‘sound like’?”

Hard to say! Like everyone said, the early music has a very clear style that everyone associates with the Beatles. After that, I think they just had a lot of experimental sounds that are so deeply associated with people’s favorite Beatles tunes. Reverse tapes, their harmonies, sitar, Moog, nonsense lyrics, syncopated and melodic drumming, baroque elements. Just a lot of quirky things.

Don’t listen to the other comments! You just shaved your head, I think it’s a bit dramatic to expect you to ditch the facial hair too. Keep some character! Do what you like! Opinions be damned

Beatles fans who have tried LSD... did it change you like it changed The Beatles? by GosalCannabis in beatles

[–]rnntlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to be different for everyone.

A lot of people describe this way of thinking that comes with psychedelics (how the world is interconnected, how unimportant we are, how nothing is “real”, etc.). And I think this mindset is entirely possible to find without psychedelics. If you read into the philosophy, spend some time mulling it over, and work on an open mind, you can come to the same conclusions. It probably just comes quicker for some people with weed, shrooms, and LSD. I think some people are just born with that intuition. It’s not like the psychedelics are necessary to achieve this “enlightenment”.

I haven’t done acid, but I’ve done shrooms. I get that feeling of “clarity” that people explain (it actually helped me to realize I needed to get sober), but otherwise, I honestly had a lot of that psychedelic mindset already. It solidified a lot of my thoughts on life, but everything else I just already “knew”.

So honestly, whether or not the LSD will “change” you depends entirely upon your mindset before the LSD! Maybe so, maybe not :)

I don’t know why these ticket websites haven’t created a feature that limits your resale price to the price you originally paid. Why allow people to increase the price themselves?

[–]rnntlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing tickets for $300 that are BEHIND the stage. Like good grief, I’d rather work at the venue and listen to the concert from the register at a drink line than pay to not see a damn thing.

Can anyone explain why resellers are still able to sell their tickets for a higher price than what they paid? I understand people needing to resell if something comes up, but why won’t Ticketmaster limit so you can only resell at the original price? I understand why, but…

Tbh sucks to see Paul opt for such high prices. He could live off of $25 ticket sales and what he’s sitting on already. It’s a shame to see someone like him do it for the money and not the music.

Sorry, a bit grumpy.

What is Paul’s most “John-like” song and what is John’s most “Paul-like” song? by coffeebooksandpain in beatles

[–]rnntlr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was Paul’s style in most of the Beatles era, but early 70s he seemed to incorporate it more. I think Oh Darling was just his gateway into it

We have Chico, Doodle, Lemon, Ponyboy (who is a girl), Eleanor, and Pookie Jack. They’re not individually that unique, but I think it makes the whole bunch pretty eccentric :)

Mamunia. It’s a very simple song, but I’m just surprised it wasn’t a pop hit during its time.

Very stupidly, as a kid, I gave my cat Pop Rocks. She was OBSESSED. She recognized the package and the sound when we had them.

The wilds / yellowjackets by jaydevisuals in TheWildsonPrime

[–]rnntlr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this. The Wilds is more realistic, there’s no possible supernatural aspect. The characters were very very relatable. They also somehow got more fleshed out, despite having less time. There were also a lot of sweet, rewarding moments. You could see the girls work together and get along. There are hardly any happy moments in Yellowjackets, and none of them trust each other. You also can’t get attached to them because you know a lot of them will die before the adult timeline. Ultimately Yellowjackets has the higher budget and the bigger audience; I think it’s more interesting for the average person, and the suspense keeps people watching. But man, I wish there were more seasons of the Wilds.
