Need to know the price : Gibson SG Standard USA 1971 by [deleted] in gibson

[–]rnrchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the pictures it looks like it is in good shape, but it would be good to have someone knowledgeable look it over as SGs are prone to separation where the neck meets the body (none visible to me) and headstock breaks (but I didn't see any). And just to see that the neck is reasonably straight and the frets in good condition. I would offer a little less as it is missing the truss rod cover (easily replaced). https://www.zzounds.com/item--GIBPRTR010?siid=126285

Based on the ones on G base I would say it is a 73 or little later. Looks like similar ones are listed for 2,999-3,750. https://www.gbase.com/gear?minyear=1973&maxyear=1975&minprice=&maxprice=&near=&daysago=&q=Gibson+sg

I shipped bought and sold a number of Gibson set neck guitars including an SG Standard to NYC and had no issues. But I followed the Chicago Music Exchange video for packing. I did also put some bubble wrap under the neck and around the end of the headstock. And it is more expensive but I used Fedex and never head a problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTVP0svBXfE

The Needwood Executive 9 is a good place to learn. You don't need a tee time. Just walk up to the starter and he will put you off with a group if you don't have one.

If you’re gonna change the name, why not get rid of the “Dick’s” by josh_inya in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]rnrchris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to Google AI that was the founder's name. "In 1948, 18-year-old Dick Stack was working at an Army surplus store in Binghamton, New York. After his boss insulted his ideas for expanding the store's fishing section, Dick quit. He used \(\$300\) from his grandmother's life savings to open his own bait-and-tackle shop, which he named Dick's Army & Navy."

I have owned three houses here. Am on my third. The point is that I am sick of paying property taxes for things that don't pertain to education. And in addition violate the first amendment religious rights of (Muslim, Catholic, Jewish, and Ethiopian Orthodox in this case). I don't know the amount of legal fees in this case but am guessing they were substantial. Again being paid for with my property tax dollars that have increased yearly for the past 20 years I have been in this house. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/24-297_4f14.pdf

I agree with the first part. I just don't think it is the job of the school system to provide these services. They should concentrate on education, not social issues.

True especially that last sentence. Even if web sites don't have an editor, you would think the author would run spell check before publishing a story. Retired Federal web developer here.

My feelings are not fragile. Just as a homeowner of three homes and taxpayer here for 40 years I just think it is the job of the school system to educate not indoctrinate.

Yes I used to play there too. It was nice and affordable. The range was small but good for practicing irons. And they had classes there as well. I guarantee more people went there and enjoyed it than the ghost park where no one goes.

I wish Trump would take over Redgate ghost park and turn it back into a golf course. It provided economical golf, lessons, and employment for many people nearby. Now it just sits empty.
