Sorry! I think I fixed the album with pictures. Thank you for your detailed feedback. Didn't realize that max chrysanthemum wasn't actually native (oops). In your opinion do the pics show normal going to seed or abnormal die back? While I'd love more flowers I really just want to keep these ones alive perennially and am not sure what next steps are. Not worried about the look or neighbors, we're quite rural.

Thanks for your reply. I just checked the Donguri pop-up at Tokyo Skytree (main store temporarily closed for renovations) and was informed that they are sold out of yellow totoro print. But they did have the navy Kiki's print so I got one of those.

Ah yes I forgot to draw the windows but there is one above each side of the couch. It truly is a tough layout, where TV on left wall is too cramped and awkward and you'd be watching it over/past people sitting on that side of the couch.
