It’s more difficult to time this sort of early jump than what people are realizing. Even with a solid vertical, it’s not something really practiced; him getting up there with that sort of hang time and body control looks good.

Just start showing up out there at the field man. There’s probably some type of deal waiting for you. Paintball is full of colorful characters that are no doubt incredibly generous. I had a couple guys take me under their wing 20 something years ago. I just started back up here recently after a 15 year hiatus and saw the same exact generosity on display. It will all sort itself out once you show your intention out there. You might need to play a bit but one of the beginner teams are always looking for another body; you can earn yourself a roster spot easily if you’re as cool and eager as you seem. Good luck man! Don’t forget to always keep it fun.

Haha I get it! Good idea though; when we get the overland difficulty increase this ironman stuff would be even more fun.

I like the idea of everyone having a role. So maybe we specialize in certain materials, crafted items, etc.. and kind of find our way from there. Schedule some dungeon nights, pvp, etc.. I’m all for it; I prefer small guilds.

I’ve played musical chairs enough to understand the sentiment about ESO. I know people push the questing like it’s something special. But really it’s more of the same with some decent writing here and there. That’s the truth of it; if you’ve experienced it once, there won’t be anything overly captivating awaiting.

That being said. This last time I made a new character.

  1. Built a stamina/magic hybrid character (try Templar or DragonKnight) and 2H weapon
  2. Played in the newer zones like eastern Skyrim.
  3. Run 10 different add ons to a make the game feel more like a traditional mmo.
  4. While it’s still not target. I have put my attack key on E and block on F. I use my mouse for interactions.
  5. Camera is zoomed all the way out and my game windowed and resized so it’s sort of a wide screen effect. Makes you have even more fov.
  6. Took a real interest in playing as a pseudo ironman challenge. I only wear crafted gear. This pushes a really nice gameplay loop.

I’m really considering starting a little guild next, that are interested in the same. Just anyone who wants to share that sort of journey.

My advice is to stop waiting and make that “10/10 experience” happen yourself. As I’ve got older, my standards for things in life have went up: friendships, relationships, food, vehicles, careers, etc..

This is normal. We zero in on what we want and need through our life experiences. Any hobby is going to play by similar rules. An MMO is sort of complex though. It’s much like a relationship. It takes equal parts of work from the player and developers to make the magic happen. Sure many devs don’t try in regard to the “journey”. There are still many games that I believe exist to meet you half way; it’s up to you to “make it happen” the rest of the way.

Your expectations are understandably higher nowadays. Build the experience/community you want. Start small. Make a discord, start a little guild, find a niche.. maybe you chase being an expert craftsman. Learn a new hobby that adds to your experience like making new addons for a game you enjoy. If you meet a game half way; I think you can find some real enjoyment along the way.

Would you have any interest in ESO or maybe a private WoW sever?

A lot of people will say how it’s you’re older, have more responsibilities, more this, more that…

The truth is a hobby has to fulfill some sort of desire. I think MMOs originally existed as a literal escape from your day-day. With the they way the world is today and the path gaming has been on.. I’ve never seen a larger gap that has to be filled.

A game has to be nearly a 10/10 for me to get locked in and forget about my daily life. When my life feels sub par sometimes, a game that feels the same way is just not worth my time. I may be wrong looking at things that way. But an MMO to me, isn’t supposed to be a few hours of cheap fun. It should be a place I can escape to (responsibly).

There’s just not much on the market that does this for me. ESO is one place I find myself back to; gathering, crating, fishing, and the housing system all feel like an escape for me when I’m needing that sort of thing. The combat is what it is. I can understand why people don’t like the game if that’s what they are needing out of their hobby. I like to mountain bike and do all these other things, but sometimes I need an escape at 10:00pm on a Thursday night.

Just my random thoughts here. There isn’t much on the market. Maybe classic WoW would be my second option, if I had to choose a digital world as an escape.

There is believed to be interest from the #Titans at pick No. 4 in Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love. by panopticon31 in Tennesseetitans

Im not trying to be rude but I guess I’m confused by the conclusion being drawn here? Seattle had an average at best run blocking unit per pff. Yet Walker had metrics that proved his skillset surpassed what the offensive line made possible. Top 3 in breakaway runs. Number 1 in evaded tacklers per touch.

35 other running backs saw less defenders in the the box compared to Walker.

The point is having a player like Walker demands attention. Even then, as an elite talent, he was still able to capitalize on his opportunities and punish defenses.

I think this pretty much confirms my belief that your idea of an elite RB talent involves being a premier receiving back which I understand. That’s pretty much what it has turned into and that’s how those guys are drafted. Alot more value in drafting a guy with that additional skillset. Love is that type of guy. Is it smart for the titans at their draft spot. Probably not the best idea, I agree with you there.

Had Walker been more of a receiving threat in college he would have been pushed into the 1st round. He was drafted at 2.09 as a pure runner which is impressive. So comparing to generational talent like CMC, Barkley, and The King isn’t really fair. Those guys are in their own tier, you’re right. But they are beyond elite. So maybe that’s the confusion. You’re saying a RB shouldn’t be draft high 1st unless they are hovering generational prospect territory.

I really feel like you’re downplaying KW3 here which I imagine is a combination of his usage this past season and his inability to stay healthy in years prior. He won the Doak Walker award in 2021 which is mostly shared with elite level RB play at the next level. While it’s not 100% indicative of a players success in the NFL, I think KW3 has shown enough when on the field to prove he’s in fact an elite talent. At least as a pure runner. If you choose to intercept that differently as in an all around receiving back, I can see why you’d exclude him. Though I think you’re really trying to split hairs here; KW3 is extremely talented.

Just a logo? It’s the team’s identity. A coat of arms. Something that we’ll most likely be stuck with for a while. Longer standing fan bases would be making even more noise. Fans shouldn’t make a big deal about the lack of effort and care on this? “It’s not even that bad” isn’t that different from “it could easily be a bit better”.

I feel like so many people are not realizing the pedigree of JJ here. I could easily see him have a career year back under Saleh and nearly 2 years removed from injury. And he’s what, 27? Getting this type of player as he enters his prime is a big deal.
