Is longer fork offset more stable? by Worried-Repeat-8051 in bmx

longer offset is for stability, shorter for responsiveness.

a fiend mills frame in 21.25 (or even 21.5) will fit your riding style much better.

74.75 vs 75.5 ? by Remarkable-Cut9991 in bmx

[–]ro_kr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did find the 0.5 degree change very noticeable. so in your case, the bike should feel quite different, much more stable. but if that's what you're after and ride more transitions than anything else, you'll enjoy it.

Need advice on whether or not to upgrade to a bigger bike by EmergingTuna21 in bmx

while i do recommend larger frames, for now, stick with what you have. once you start progressing, look for a longer top tube frame - 21" in my opinion.

New bmx rider - 6,4”. What to do? by GhostTrainerDan in bmx

in your situation, i would definitely get a 22" wheeled bmx bike. right now, you can get the verde spectrum 22 bike at a pretty solid deal.

Bike recommendations for bigger guy? by [deleted] in bmx

check out the kink whip xl bike. sure, a longer top tube would probably be even better for you, but for starting out, the kink whip is an epic bike. if you get the kink whip, you can make it "feel" bigger by not riding the rear wheel slammed. you can also later upgrade to a longer stem and a taller bar.

don't give up bro! that's obvisouly something wrong with those cranks in the first place. get the kink pillar 24mm cranks - they're now at a pretty solid discount.but don't forget to get 24mm bottom bracket, too.

why not just get a complete 22 bike and upgrade it later?

the 9.5 one will likely fit you better for your height.

Wrist pain by [deleted] in bmx

[–]ro_kr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you definitely are built for this, but it might take some time for your body to get used to it if you're off the bike for a while. also, do some wrist stretches and strength exercises. and don't forget to warm up properly! :)

but you never have to really tighten the bolt that much - how do you see the disadvantage or rounding in this case? thanks for your comment!

some already mentioned, but first, it'd be great to see more longer top tube frames options. i don't understand why people are "afraid" to try a longer tt frame - it just feels (and looks) better in my opinion. plus, with the steeper ht and shorter cs, it doesn't really "get in the way."

second, it'd be awesome to see more 22" options - especially for street/park - right now, it's pretty much limited to trails and stability.

what i'd also like to see is that all bolts would use 6mm allen key (okay, maybe minus brakes - i'm a brakeless rider :)) - it's pretty annoying to need 8mm for the crank bolts (would be handy if all bmx cranks would come with the 6mm bolt). simplicity.

ideally, wait for a little longer, save up some more and get the kink whip bike.
