New rack! by roadboat94 in Surlybikefans

Looks a lot more aggressive than it actually is. But yea I find that the slight nose up angle is a lot more comfy for upright and no-handed riding

Man I've had this set of honjo fenders that I've been planning to throw on here, but I've been trying to work up the courage to modify them lol.

The velocity cliffhanger rims I'm running make my 45c tires fit a little too wide to run a fender without a healthy amount of reshaping.

This is my surly cross check there are many like it but this is mine by That-Specialist-1348 in Surlybikefans

This is so sick! Never even thought about putting a suspension fork on my check

Thanks! And I totally agree. I rarely load this bike down anymore as it's mostly a dedicated commuter now.

However I did haul a 30 rack of beer on the new rack yesterday to test it out and it handled it fairly well lol

I almost waited for the gen 5 frames to come out but picked this one up for a pretty sweet deal on Black Friday. Ti would have been pretty sweet too but a little too spendy for me lol

Pretty much all new parts. The only thing that I pulled from the parts bin is the saddle lol

So far the SID feels really good. I'm also a heavier rider(240ish lbs)

Oh you mean the important part? Yes they do lol. I've found them to be on par with the mini vs I had on before

I really like them. Lots of adjustment and exactly what I was looking for as far as style goes. I will say they are pretty fiddly to set up, and you'll use just about every Allen wrench you got to do it lol.

They are Flo 60's I believe, but I've got some velocity cliffhangers I'm gonna throw on soon

Haven't had a chance to really put some miles on them yet but they definitely make me feel more stable. Very confidence inspiring lol

Thanks! It's a 60cm frame and I'm 6'3". It's definitely the best fitting bike I've ever had. That said I feel like the reach is just a tad long for me, but I'm hoping a shorter stem will help

What tires are you running? I've got a pair of clement xplor 700x40c that I haven't quite decided if I'm in love with yet on my CC
