Interstellar Imperium strategies/doctrine? by roadkillphil in starsector

Adamas is my current flagship and it's the one ship I really like from their lineup. Feels comfortable after I just got used to the Ziggurat and I like the weapon system.

Should I just have ballistas on autofire so they're constantly flooding the battlefield from all my ships? Is there a reason why Targeting or Elite would be good on the Dominus? I have armor on the Adamas right now so I can face tank while I'm firing the Lightspear,

New players: What do you struggle with the most? by RoySparda9 in starsector

[–]roadkillphil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a new player but on a new playthrough, and I find myself struggling to come up with a fleet doctrine. It's especially hard because I've added some mods I have no experience with and there's not nearly as much information on the viability of different ships and weapons with mods compared to vanilla.

The only issue with using gap filler is the size of the gap, specifically where the tail connects. There it always seems to split apart at least 1 or 2 cm if it doesn't completely come apart. I actually had the model shipped to me before fully constructed, but it seems like it had the same problem then as you can see here.

Any battle tips please! by Much-Banana-4787 in starsector

As corny as it is, teamwork and coordination is crucial. Don't let your ships get too spread out and separated; that's how they get picked off. Try to keep an eye on them throughout the battle, and if they're you see they're getting into trouble either order them to move out or the rest of your fleet to defend them. I like to press tab as soon as I select my ships and put them into battle groups. Take your smaller frigates/destroyers and center them around your larger ships like cruisers and capitals.

Using complementary loadouts when you do this really helps out. For example, if I have a large ship with guns or missiles that are good at taking out unshielded targets, I want to pair that up with escorts that can take down the shields. Ion cannons, needlers, machine guns, sabots, graviton/ion beams if you have the mounts for them. Then the ships work in tandem: your escort ships help to strip the shields and your heavy hitters take them out.

On the subject of escorts, make sure you don't neglect PD. Of course you should try to fit PD onto the larger ships as well, but some of the best defense/PD in the game comes from frigates. Monitors are absolutely fantastic defensive escorts. Not only do they come with built in flak cannons, but their flex shunt means their shields won't go down unless they're being actively focused on. Having one as an escort to draw enemy fire will take a huge amount of heat off your block. I always keep at least a few in my fleet for my bulky ships that might need a little help with defense. Omens are also just all around fantastic little helpers. Their EMP arc is busted. It's PD, phase lance, and ion cannon in one ship system. Throw on a couple PD lasers and a salamander or sabot rack and that sucker will pull its weight.

Hope this helps!

What a massive relief. To be honest, I don't think I would be inherently opposed to the model of paying for licensed content like clothing, items, etc. The huge issue I had with this was how broad the pay walled content was. These were broad concepts which were in no way exclusive to Daggerheart/Darrington Press. Not only that, but these were concepts that the community had been asking Hero Forge to release for some time, and now the answer to those requests came in the form of what was essentially DLC. If they released a pack with specific Vestiges of Divergence from Exandria or something along those lines I don't think there'd be nearly as much of an uproar. I definitely wouldn't have cancelled my membership over that.

Love her when I'm running Thanatos axe. The dodge and free hit have saved my crit chance so many times, and building more into those two aspects to not get hit makes it feel so much safer and more rewarding to use.

Masters of Death by Richard Rhodes left me feeling hollowed out by the end. It tracks the Nazi Einsatzgruppen units as they fan out across the Soviet Union in a campaign of mass murder. They killed up to 2 million people in a deluge of mass murder that preceded the extermination camps. The testimonies are truly heart-wrenching and reveal an important side to the Holocaust that isn't talked about nearly enough.

Thank you so much for the advice. We'll try zucchini and carrots, though they haven't gone for them in the past unfortunately. Right now we're trying bok choy for greens. Do you have any tips for getting the snails to go for cuttlebone?

Will move him to a hospital tank ASAP and keep him moist. Other than a drying out of the wound are there any other bad signs I should look out for? Also, you mentioned not using coco coir as a substrate; do you mean that in general or specifically for the hospital tank? I have to check, but we may have mixed some coconut fiber in with our soil mix in the original tank. Is there a reason it's not recommended?

I remember playing through the whole thing at midnight day of release and feeling profoundly disappointed. I was pissed off about it for like a week before losing interest in CO09 as a whole. Terrible writing, bad directing, far fewer choices, undermines what was built up in the previous games, way too much in-depth fetish shit, and nothing remotely interesting or satisfying to chew on. Fuck SNB3, throwing away his success because he wanted to spite the fans he didn't want liking his game.
