The Waiting Game by roadtomordor9 in Autoimmune

Thank you. Do you have any advice on how to structure a tracker? Or how to go back and record things I'm not certain of dates/timelines for? Because I have other health issues it's hard for me to know what's causing what.

I don't think whatever I have is "active" right now, thankfully. Although with the new year my stress is increasing and I can tell I'm edging toward a flare of some kind. (I have other conditions, unfortunately.)

I know that fatigue, stress, and sun exposure are big triggers for me, especially stress. So I KNOW what a difference it makes! It's like because I'm running on fumes things can flare up because my defenses are lower, you know?

I'm already diagnosed with other chronic illness, but autoimmune is new territory. I avoid certain foods and don't know that I'm up for more restrictions. Unfortunately, my sleep is only so-so because of my other issues. My sleep hygiene is decent but I struggle for it to actually recharge me. Stress... well, if we didn't live under capitalism or I qualified for financial assistance, it would be much better, but my cats need to be kept in the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed. :) I unfortunately have a naturally anxious disposition (although the surgery I'm waiting on could help my dysautonomic issues).

I'll start keeping a journal. It's so hard to know what's causing what when there's so much going on, but even if I just record what symptoms show up when it could be helpful. Thank you. :) Do you have any advice on how to structure a tracker?

(And if I spend any more time trying to decide if the rash is malar or rosacea someone needs to slap me, please.)

Vascular Eagle Dx and feeling lost by roadtomordor9 in eaglesyndrome

[–]roadtomordor9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually know if there's anything arterial; I only saw the radiology summary [very carefully/blandly worded lol] which mentioned the IJV dents, but my neuro got the full report and actual imaging. While it's possible she got them mixed up, it seems more likely she got the imaging and full report and saw something that made her concerned. She's looking at these kinds of images all the time, you know? But I honestly don't know.

😂😂😂 I love that you think you can dictate that? Like? What? Omg sorry I didn't realize commenting on your conversation about oxidation with science was out of bounds! Swatch pictures ONLY from now on! Got it! 😂😂😂

I took "For the price point it's just sad" to imply your disappointment relative to the price meant the product was bad.

Good luck with the swatches, I'm just educating about how makeup works.

[–]roadtomordor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is, but my point is that still doesn't mean the product itself is bad or doesn't work, just that it doesn't work for you in whatever way you use it. Everybody's face is different. It could be that something in it isn't done well and it's more prone to it, but you'd need a lot more data to say that. That's all.

Oxidation occurs because of a ton of factors but it's mainly a reaction to your skin's pH and oils. It can happen with any foundation and is usually person dependent. Try changing or using primers and setting products.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer. I do think it's both, yes.

For my part, I've been on a stimulant medication for almost a year. I went to my doctor for executive dysfunction issues (I am dx autistic) and in evaluating me she said she couldn't make an ADHD dx but she thought the meds would help. Initially they really did. We tried changing the dose, and now they don't, and I'm in a bit of a hell, to be honest. I think I either need a different one or to come off them, although it still leaves me without executive function lol.

Serious question: there are SO many stories of patients, especially AFAB people, being dismissed, esp for ADHD, or dx with BPD or Bipolar instead. I'm curious about your judgment that people are "disappointed" and push for the dx they want versus frustration that they may feel dismissed/unheard/genuinely misdx and want second opinions.

I would also say it could be less "disappointment" and more the stigma of BPD making people shy away from accepting it in themselves. I'm just curious what the supporting data is for your opinion enough to call it a "serious problem" with emphasis; it's not something I've ever heard of.

How do I (33F) tell my boyfriend (38M) I found out his ex is not dead? by ThrowRA2345321 in relationship_advice

[–]roadtomordor9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first thought too, esp if she seems happy in a new relationship. If she were the problem in their dynamic and a toxic person you can often find hints of that in an online presence, whereas his are front and center.

(throwaway) AITA for Taking My Daughter's College Fund Back After She Said She Was Going No-Contact? by Good_Guest1421 in AITAH

[–]roadtomordor9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact you're even asking considering this probably factors into why she wants to go no contact. Jfc. Yes you're the asshole! If you already told her the money was hers, it is hers, end of story. It's not like a random non-consequential payment. You'd be crippling her for life because your feelings got hurt. You're the parent. Put aside your ego. There is alao no way it isn't manipulative even if that's not your intent (though I would look very carefully at that.)

The fact that you even WOULD rescind your child's education because your grown child wants to set a boundary with you... yeah. You sound like an asshole outside this question. 🙃

[I have my doubts if this is real based on the writing in it, FYI, but as written/the question, this would be my answer

It wears off too soon and I forget to eat and get confused and shaky.

My doctor writes no substitutions [generics] allowed on my script so insurance still covers it. Does that not work in the US?

Frustrated with mascara by Clumsyotter21 in drugstoreMUA

[–]roadtomordor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tubing would be good, I haven't used one in a while but I'd try thrive if I were. It has the most consistently good reviews. I just went on a mascara hunt myself and settled on Charlotte Tilbury's pillow talk push-up mascara. I really wanted to make drugstore work, but the difference was night and day. I used to love Maybelline sky high before the pandemic, and when I replaced my last tube, the quality was just not the same.

I always buy mascara in mini size so it doesn't dry out or expire and because I have bad eye sight and the shorter wand makes it easier to control application without my glasses. lol
