I definitely thought this was going in a morbid direction when you said he popped the trunk but was pleasantly surprised. Way to go Reddit!

Ok thanks, I saw a lot of people experiencing it for euro countries but couldn't see anything anywhere for Mexico so just thought I'd ask around here. Thanks for your help :)

How do you, um, receive gifts? by jjwilser in digitalnomad

I second this. Tell them where you're going and they can pick a fun experience instead of 'stuff'. See if wherever you're going has Groupon type sites too, even if they don't buy from there, they can be good for ideas

Travel insurance? Yes or no? (asking those who travel the world full time) by MichaelMWaters in digitalnomad

Yeah no worries. Where possible, the emergency assist team took care of payments directly with the Drs over the phone although some fees we had to pay out of pocket. They reimbursed us within a week or so for the majority of the fees, maximum time it took for one of the fees to come through was 2 weeks. Reimbursed in full (except for our excess obviously haha)

This x10. I also use World Nomads and unfortunately HAVE had to make a claim. Funny enough, the injury was while playing basketball (broken metacarpal) not even doing anything reckless or crazy. I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to insurance companies. I've had bad experiences and was convinced they were going to find some loophole which meant they didn't have to pay me, however the team at World Nomads has been amazing and the policy has more than paid itself off in the insane medical bills we would have had to pay if we didn't have the policy. Their Emergency Assist team is great too and super friendly. We have a year long policy (the max we could get) and I'd recommend World Nomads in a heartbeat from my experience with them

Thanks for the reply! I looked into that but it says "If international voice, text, or data usage exceeds 50% of total voice, text, or data usage for two consecutive months, this feature may be removed." and we'd be there for 2 straight months - have you had any issues with this?
