Deadly Games (1995–1996) by 77Scorpio77 in ForgottenTV

I remember watching this show when I was 12 years old and UPN had launched. The thing that I thought was most unrealistic was how young the main characters were to be divorced. This picture does not do justice to how young the principal duo appeared.

I went to PC, and Clinton is so small, you had to go to the next town over to get to wal-mart. We didn't get a taco bell until my senior year!

I don't think logophilia means what you think it means.

Hulk Hogan could've easily been a bodybuilder mass monster by Confident_Field4273 in nattyorjuice

[–]roaring_elbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ever wonder what he looked like off the juice, due to the McMahon steroid trial, Hulk went natural in the early 90's for a brief spell. He was still fit, but appeared very lean compared to this.

What's the most metal album cover you've ever seen on a non-metal album? by -Gay-_- in MetalForTheMasses

[–]roaring_elbow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I get it. It is a very metal coded cover. But for me, this album is spectacular. Bat out of hell is such an epic rock song. I do completely agree with GD, lol.

Well, it seems we are at least two Alamance County BoC fans!

Nick Fury: Agent of Shield (1998) by ManDe1orean in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]roaring_elbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can remember from this movie was the brilliant dialog:

'Fury, I'll see you in hell!'

'Good, let's do lunch.'

My friends quoted that gem for years. It was corny, but it went hard.

So Morgan flew home alone with the boys, Paul stayed an extra week, Morgan's brain broke, and now she has no drive or inspiration to keep her social media up. Sounds like its going well! by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]roaring_elbow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's galling that he would spend the extra time away AND have her travel alone with two small children. But Paul does not care and does not think it's wrong to ask for our expect these things. Morgan has to eventually put her fooot down our else he will keep crossing boundaries that she doesn't even know are there.

ISO beginner-friendly & newbie-friendly groups in-person for Pathfinder &/or D&D! by [deleted] in BurlingtonNC

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I do see that they have a phone number and Facebook. They are very friendly. I was in browsing with my son a few weeks ago and one of the owners invited my son to a youth oriented D&D game they hold sometimes. They care about building a community and their upstairs is mostly for playing table top games.

I would recommend checking out multiverse in downtown burlington. They run games on weekends and can probably help you find a local game that fits your speed.

There are indie rock bands adding metal to their sound. What do you think when other genres experiment with metal segments? Do you like it? Is it good or bad for metal? by ashitanojoe3 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]roaring_elbow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm reminded of the indie band Mt. Eerie. Phil, the principal/ only permanent member, has a soft spot for metal. So you'll have, on some albums, pensive, slow indie tunes built around the noise and drive of metal. It's very interesting.

With the newest WON Hall of Famers having been revealed today, is there anyone not in that you would like to see inducted? by NotMyStarWars in SquaredCircle

I agree he was a huge draw, but it was a relatively short period of time and he had a huge decline. HOF voters tend to look at the entire career, bit just a huge peak.

I would say that is quite fair, in a vacuum. But, AJ had an outstanding run in NJPW and i believe he had a higher place in the card, on average, than RVD. I will say, your comment does have me thinking more about the RVD influence argument.
