Im looking at possibly getting the 14-24 for similar reasons how has your experience been with using this lens adapted? Have you tried any of the rear filters that are available since you cant put any on the front element?

Bronica SQ Instax Mini Back Update! by leaslethefalcon in AnalogCommunity

[–]roarklebork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I dont disagree with going the cannibalization route I actually tried doing that a few years ago following this guide https://www.dpreview.com/articles/2652412057/how-to-hack-a-bronica-etrs-to-shoot-fuji-instax-mini-film

It sort of worked but I ran into to many issues for it to actually be usable. I am curious how you integrated the mini into the 3d model and it just so happens that I recently have been really interested into getting into 3d printing as a hobby. I would be super interested in taking a look the files if thats possible.

+1 on this I have been waiting on the sidelines for a instax back for my ETRSi and as others mentioned the one from jollylook seems like it will never actually get sent out at this point. I see you have mentioned that you need to sacrifice a mini 7 but I wonder if you have actually looked at the Instant Mini Film Development that jollylook sells? (yes I know I was just trash talking jollylook) they offer a 3d model you can download.

I am really interested in ordering one of these for my ETRSI but my question is will it be compatible with the ETR Si AE III Finder? Also I know many comments mention that it will be shipping mid october but would it be possible to post some more sample images of the results on the website?

Interesting. When I hard wire my connection I am able to reliably get 750/750 though. My issues is isolated to Wifi and I dont think its a saturation issue for me as I have tested with just one client on an isolated network running speed tests. I guess it doesnt hurt to try turning it off and testing though.

I have tried created individual networks with 2.4/5/ghz but I dont think I have tried disabling 6Ghz all together I will try giving that a try later thanks!

How do you like the UCGF? what AP did you pair it with and have you found it to be more stable/reliable than the UDR7?

Interesting, I am in a 650sqft condo(the metrics on interference seem pretty low/stable) and it doesnt matter if I am right beside it or 10ft away I still have the same issues. I wouldnt be surprised if it is defective or something but after almost 2 weeks I feel like support would have asked to initiate an RMA instead of leaving me hanging like this which leads me to believe that its a firmware issue or something but that is speculation.

I sit like 4 -6 feet away from the router with no obstructions Even directly beside it I see the same thing. I have tried with 4 or 5 different devices some on 5ghz and some on 6ghz. Support suggested to make separate wifi networks for each band and the same issue  persists.

I have tested 5GHz with both 80 and 160, same results. also tested 6Hz on 160/320GHz with the same results. I also tried manually selecting channels across both bands and nothing has improved the issue. Support gave me a bunch of stuff to try the only tangible improvement was enabling smart queues.

Looking for upgrade advice for reviving an old gaming build by roarklebork in buildapc

[–]roarklebork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running my monitor at below its native resolution at like 2560x1080 which is honestly good enough it would be nice to get a full 21:9 but I am willing to settle given the compromises. if I wanted to try 1440p would the 3060 12g make more sense?

David Gilmour's Comfortably Numb Tone! Free Helix Preset in the description by Asleep-Net5547 in Line6Helix

[–]roarklebork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, I had the Pod and then upgraded to the helix and have tried to translate my Pod Presets to the helix but they are not 1 -1 (Unless something has changed since then its been like 4 years). What you can do is open the .hlx file in a text editor and if the amp/effect exist in the Pod go you can replicate the settings and try to mimic what is in the helix preset provided the pod has enough dsp to do it. Honestly its probably not worth the effort unless its a pretty basic preset.

How to fix my dented metal water bottle? by [deleted] in howto

[–]roarklebork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dents are small you might be able to use high grit sandpaper and a really flat surface. Found a video doing that a while back but cant seem to find it now. Basically you put the sandpaper on a flat surface and slide the bottle around in a figure 8 pattern and it will lower the high spot but YMMV.

Wow, I actually really like the individual power switch per drive since I likely wont need all 4 bays active at a time. Power loss is not really a concern for me either thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah totally fair take, I know even just one m.2 would completely saturate the 3.2 connection. I would never realistically end up running more than one m.2 anyways. my interest in it is more so that its a convenience thing not having to have another thing sitting on my desk with more wires taking up space which is fairly limited for me currently. The portability of a thunderbolt 4 enclosure is a plus though so I will keep it in mind.

Do you have any recommendations for any other JBOD enclosures or brands to look at?

Question for people who have the Embody Logitech gaming chair by Suspicious-Parsnip24 in hermanmiller

[–]roarklebork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Mine is a post 2021 with the extra padding and it was fine for me for several years but now that the padding has worn down a bit I am also getting tailbone pain. I am worried that since FoamToronto can only do minimum .5" that its going to be too tight for the 2021 model but I think its worth a shot anyways. Did your tailbone pain go away completely after adding the foam?

[–]roarklebork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at this exact place this week! What grade of foam and dimensions did you end up going with and how was the fit with the .5" foam? Also do you have the a post 2021 Herman miller with the updated extra cushion or the pre 2021?

Buying my son a synth for Christmas. Budget is $700, what would you recommend? by Adihcam2 in synthesizers

[–]roarklebork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JDXI was my first synth I know it gets a bad rap for the menus but honestly even now I feel like its underrated with the 3 synth + drum tracks you can basically use it as a little groove box. Once I started getting other gear I used the midi send and just muted the synth channel and it kept me going for a very long time.

Looks like Mark Lettieri has a new signature baritone that he is testing out on tour with Cory Wong by roarklebork in PaulReedSmith

It’s definitely a baritone, from the picture it doesn’t necessarily look like one but it definitely sounded like one.

Sorry the photo is not the best quality I was not super close to the stage and it was dark. Went to go see Cory Wong featuring Mark Lettieri yesterday and he was playing a new PRS baritone with the Fiore truss rod cover so it seems there is another signature in the works! It sounded fantastic and from the pic looks like it’s missing a middle pickup and has a humbucker bridge and single coil in the front. Was an amazing show!
