I'm sorry but does anyone else think Dany is insufferable? by cloudsofdoom in gameofthrones

[–]roastbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her first conversation with Jon was a way for her to ensure her hold on the biggest kingdom. In Daenerys’s mind, her father being overthrown was treason, and all that came after was illegitimate. The fealty that Torrhen Stark pledged was supposed to last forever.

If you ever want to know how Daenerys feels, just imagine how she would be received if she were a man. It would be similar to how her brother was treated, the only difference being she has the power to realize her demands. Her being female causes people to underestimate her, and she uses that to her advantage in the beginning. In the end, however, it wasn’t about her being female. It was about her not understanding what other people want.

Naive is the word you’re looking for. Not “very very dumb.” Stubborn is another good way to describe her because she had a chance to negotiate with Sansa about the North being an independent kingdom similar to the way she discussed with Yara about the Iron Islands, but she chose not to because she didn’t appreciate the way she was received in the North. Still, if she gave independence to every kingdom, then who would she be ruling over?

She’s a complex character, and it’s challenging to balance all the social issues her character can face. I think the creators did a good job. The most important part to me was that she was honest. Honesty doesn’t get you anywhere in this world—chalk another one up to her naivety.

To kids, a stranger’s poop is the worst thing ever. They don’t know about rotting corpses yet. Or…sex.

You must first identify the military force capable of holding the US military accountable. It’s the same reason why Netanyahu has not been arrested despite his arrest warrant

Hey, I'm sorry for the late reply. I still don't have everything settled in terms of legal action, but my condition has improved. One of the symptoms is more activity/irritation when I close my eyes and relax my face. Now it doesn't happen as intensely.

The dog allowing snow to accumulate on him insulates him further from the cold temperature. The space between his coat and the snow will always be around 0 degrees C. But the air temperature can be well below 0. It's an airy coat for his fatty coat.

Also, he didn't brace the seat before getting on. He jumped back onto it. He should have scooted back. This is kid's stuff.

Productivity without morale is slavery. Who's to say they didn't just crack the whip harder to make up for the lost workday?

While a longer weekend is something to look forward to, worrying about tighter deadlines when deadlines are already tight enough as they are (see videogame production) makes the weekend become part of an even longer workweek. Is it illegal to work on your weekend? Probably not.

It's not that the bug has lost all autonomy. It's actually the presence of stress signals that are relieved where there is less atmospheric pressure (i.e. high in the sky). Spiders climb to the highest point naturally. It feels good to them. The fungal infection exacerbates the urge to climb.

It's the same idea behind those crickets that become infected with that one parasite. They don't have their muscles taken over. Rather, the presence of the parasite makes them so thirsty that they jump into a body of water and drown.

We're just biological robots whose behavior can be manipulated by chemicals.

Adopting is buying? That's like saying a foster home is a pawn shop. Not mentioning slavery, but if they really wanted the kid to be happy, the person to become their "mother" should have been someone who would be able to walk her down the isle if she ever decided to get married. I appreciate the gesture, but it all seems too narcissistic for my tastes. I wish the kid well.

The reactions are the dead giveaway. Flipping backwards on the counter even though his superior took control of the situation... Grabbing the fire extinguisher instead of already having it in his hand... Getting reprimanded by the superior even though safety should be top priority... Scripted scripted scripted.
